If you already have your affiliate products and you're working at making more sales, an increase in commissions is the obvious goal of everyone. With more and more products hitting the online market, it's essential to follow some simple yet crucial steps. So what are they?
If you want your affiliate program commissions to take off, literally overnight, these are the steps you need to seriously consider;
1. Do your research and check out the programs you're thinking about promoting. It's pretty obvious that you only want to promote a product that will give you the maximum paycheck in the shortest possible time.
The main factors to consider when doing this are obvious when you stop and think about them, but more often than not, are not fully considered before putting your time and money into making your product pay.
Check the commission structure and make sure it pays well. Also, try to find products that match your target audience and are already paying well to other affiliates. You soon know when a program isn't meeting up to it's promises - that's the time to reconsider its worth and move on to the next.
As you're probably going to be one of many affiliates promoting the same product, especially if it's a good one, establish your USP - or 'Unique Selling Position'. Set yourself up as offering that little something extra that makes you stand out above the crowd. Write a short article to give away as an incentive to potential buyers. This gives you both greater credibility and extra drawing power.
Give information that's not only free, but useful. When you do this, if what you give away for free is good, people naturally expect a great deal more from the bought product. Make recommendations about the product within the report if you can, and try to give just enough information to make people need the actual product.
2. When giving away free reports or ebooks, save and collect, at the very least, the name and email addresses of all those who download your gift. It's now widely known that very few people make a purchase on their first introduction to a product.
This is where an autoresponder is invaluable as you can create a whole series of follow up messages to send to these prospects to entice them into buying your product. Anywhere between 6 and 10 messages are needed to finally clinch the sale, so automate this process and capitalize on the free report.
Once you have these prospects details, they are yours until the person unsubscribes. This means that you can send them information in the months ahead about other products you're promoting, long after they've bought the original item.
If you develop an ezine, you are in a perfect position to send more valuable, and occasional free, information to these prospects who now value you as a source of knowledge and useful recommendations. You develop a relationship with them and they may stay with you for years to come. They begin to trust you and your recommendations and eventually, are likely to buy from you again.
3. Never underestimate the power of negotiation. Be prepared to haggle with a seller whose goods you wish to promote. Remember that all merchants need affiliates to market and sell their goods and will be more inclined to change their payment structure than potentially loose business if they see you as a good source of income.
Be bold and you could find yourself receiving a greater slice of the pie for all your advertising efforts. Don't be greedy but be fair and you will be respected for it.
4. Use effective advertising techniques. 'Pay Per Click' will give you the most immediate results if you do your research right. Naturally, Google's Adwords and Overture are the places to start, being leaders in the online PPC field. But, look around and research the smaller players who offer cheaper rates to a smaller audience. These include; ExcelSeek, JumpFind, LookQuick to name just three.
Ezine Top Sponsor and Solo ads can also give you a huge and quick return on your advertising buck with your ad being received by a responsive audience of your chosen market.
And as with any advertising campaigns - track your results. If you don't know who's clicking what, you'll never know which ads are working.
Use these techniques and you'll soon see an immediate improvement in your affiliate sales. Build on your successes and expansion and growth will follow.

In the good old days when internet marketing was in its infancy, most of the people who clicked on your affiliate links used to purchase without a second thought... but, now as times are getting tougher, and visitors getting more cynical, you'll be amazed at the number who won't!
Just one flaw in a system and you will find dozens of unscrupulous people waiting to exploit it. Same goes for affiliate commission tracker systems. People who know how to manipulate the system will replace your affiliate ID with theirs and "hijack" your commissions.
Most affiliate links are some form or the other of http://www.thesite.com/?YOURID
Where your affiliate id is passed as a parameter. A thief has to simply change the "YOURID" part to "HISID" to put your money in his pocket.
In other cases, there are visitors to your site who simply can't stand the thought of you "making money off them" so they bypass you by simply chopping off the end of your affiliate link that contains your ID.
Instead of buying from http://www.thesite.com/?YOURID -- the bypasser will simply "chop off" the affiliate ID at the end and simply buy from the plain URL http://www.thesite.com/ --without your affiliate ID attached!
Bam! you just got cheated out of your rightful commission.
Studies have shown that this phenomenon causes about 30% lost sales.
By following some of these simple tips you will be able to, if not all, at least confuse most hijackers and, in many cases, often disarm them completely.
You might notice i said most and not all. This is because if the hijacker is well versed at html and javascipt he will be able to eventually get to your affiliate link. However, most hijackers are just opportunists who will only act if they see an easy buck and its this segment that we can beat
This way your "naked" affiliate link is not exposed in your actual email messages and ezine ads, but, once people get redirected to the true affiliate link.
One possible drawback of this method is that some affiliate programs, like clickbank for example, expose the affiliate link along with your ID in the browser address bar.
So if the viewer is eagle-eyed he will notice that hes been redirected through and affiliate link.
A safer method to hide your affiliate links is using a zero-frame or "invisible" frame that masks the affiliate link by making it appear you are sending people to a page on your website. In reality, you are actually sending them to your affiliate link.
This technique is also used by many domain redirection service sites.
Unfortunately is the user views the source of the page. He know whats that youve loaded an affiliate link.
Even though there isn't a 100% perfect solution to this problem, if you want to get paid more often through your affiliate links, make sure it's not obvious you're referring people to an affiliate link.
If they can't see that its a affiliate link, lower the possibility of you getting stiffed of your commission. If you are looking for a tool that lets you do all this plus earn affiliate commissions even from those folk who dont click your affiliate link then do check out Covert Affiliate

Whether I promote SFI, Goji, Amway or any other Affiliate Marketing program, it seems that I always hear the same complaints for mother affiliates in those programs.
"I never hear from my downline!" or "No matter how many times I write, My downline affiliates never seem to get involved." In fact, this is very common throughout the affiliate marketing industry. In most cases it takes as many as 100 new affiliates to gain one who is active and will actually take action to build a business.
This is totally unacceptable, and avoidable if you use proper followup techniques. In fact, the one in one hundred ratio can be improved dramatically by using a solid followup plan. The plan included in this article has four parts that if followed, will cause your affiliate marketing results to skyrocket.
Get Your Reader's Attention
What I mean by this, is that you need to get them to actually read what you have to say. Those interested in a business opportunity usually sign up for several different programs. Each of these programs is competing for the readers attention, and as a result, your messages can easily be lost in the clutter.
What is needed is a way to make your messages stand out from the crowd. Snappy headlines help, but to really get a reader's attention, try using Ecards in your followup program. Ecards have a couple of advantages that can ignite your followup campaign. First, everybody likes getting a greeting card and when they see a notice in their in box that someone has sent them a card, their natural curiosity gets the best of them, and they open the card. Second, most Ecard providers provide a tracking service that notifies you when a card has been opened. This allows you to gauge the effectiveness of your followup campaign.
Here are a couple of hints that will definitely help you in the use of Ecards. First, limit the use of these cards to special occasions. Your initial introduction, and a congratulatory message upon completion of a training event should do the job. Do not over use them, or Ecards can become ineffective. Second, keep your messages short and sweet. The idea is to get your reader used to dealing with you. After a couple of contacts, they will be more likely to look for your Email address on normal correspondence.
Ecards are available from a variety of sources and are usually provided for free by the major Internet Service Providers. You can also purchase custom cards for a smalll fee from companies like Hallmark.
Write a Newsletter
Getting responses from your downline affiliates is all about building trust and your initial contact is only the beginning. In order to develop this trust, follow up on a regular basis with a newsletter to your entire organization. Make your newsletter fun and upbeat. Include a useful article or two, and a couple of references to useful tools. Also, if one of your affiliates achieves a milestone, for instance Top 100 placement, mention it in your letter with a congratulation and a nice reward. Spend some money for a co-op share for them, or send them a free Ebook.
"But I only have a couple of affiliates right now" you say.
It doesn't matter if you have two or two thousand affiliates in your downline. The effects are the same. By sending out a newsletter to your affiliates, you will generate interest, establish yourself as a leader, and as someone who cares about your team members. This goes a long way toward establishing trust and fostering teamwork.
Special Announcements are the next step in building trust, and generating activity within your afiliate team. If you discover a really exciting tool, or maybe an intriguing post on business forum that will be useful to your affiliates, make a special announcement to your team. This may not light a fire under every member of your team, but it only takes one or two folks to become active to really change the dynamics of your entire organization.
Delivering Your Messages
Most affiliate programs provide a simple autoresponder which allows you to send group messages. Most of these only have the capability of sending text messages, but to send your newsletters and announcements, they can be extremely effective. If you want to really get your teams attention, try using one of the many commercially available autoresponders on the market today. These will allow you to set up and deliver not only text pages, but HTML documents as well. For those of you who aren't familiar with this, an HTML newsletter looks like a miniature Webpage, complete with color, banners and hyperlinks. This is a great way to give a little bit of pizzazz to your written communications.
Keep in mind, that you can send newsletters and special announcements to your team, even if your team only has a few members. By properly wording your messages, you can create the illusion that you are leading a very large organization. This lends credibility to your efforts, and your response rate will improve.
Continue to Refine your Messages
Look for words and phrases that have a tendency to "tell people what to do" and replace them with "suggestions and recommendations." Nobody likes to be told what to do, and when it happens, the natural reaction is to rebel, or worse yet, to ignore your message. When this happens, you will lose your affiliate forever.
Enlist the Support of Others
When you finally do get a couple of interested and active affiliates, involve them in your daily activities. There are two immediate benefits to doing this. First, you will build a relationship that benefits both of you, because both have unique qualities to contribute to the business relationship. For instance, their talents can be exploited in the areas of editing and proofreading. Second, you will be able to train your affiliate on how to proceed in their business. You will be able to pass on key knowledge as to what has worked for you, and what to avoid.
Remember, if you are getting a lousy response to your followup efforts, chances are that you only need to refine what you are doing. Use Ecards to get a reader's attention. Keep your messages short and simple. Be sincere. Build trust among your team members with newsletters and special announcements. Continually refine your messages, and enlist the support of others on your team.
By following this short lesson, you should see a dramatic improvement in your response rate, and a corresponding increase in your commission checks. : )

G'day ladies and gentlemen, This is Sorna Devadas here, writing my first article for the Internet. I have personally designed and developed around 15 websites for paying customers that have all been thrilled with the results and now I'm learning how to build my own websites that make money for me :-) You may have read alot about affiliate marketing and building websites that make you money while you sleep. There are so many strategies that you'll hear bits and pieces about so here's one concept that stuck with me, as I read more into this fertile opportunity, the basic sales process. When attracting visitors to your website, some will make a purchase and some will leave without buying. The two things we want to watch are the number of people visiting and the number of those visitors making a purchase.
This percentage is the Conversion Rate and the dollar value is the Sales Per Visitor Rate (SPV). To calculate the sales per visitor rate, take the value of the sales you made for a given time period and divide it by the number of sales you made for that period.
For example, in the last 12 months you may have made $550 thousand dollars worth of sales and had 300 thousand visitors. The SPV is then $1.83.
By increasing the number of visitors alone you will increase your profits and by increasing the sales per visitor rate alone, you'll also increase profits. By increasing both of these as time goes on, your website will become more and more profitable. Typically you can expect between 1 and 10 of every 100 visitors (SPV of 1 to 10%) to buy something and for those that don't buy, try to obtain their email address so that you can contact them later with more offers. This is another powerful concept called the signup rate. Signup rates vary between 10 and 33%. Any less than 10% needs work, any more than 33% is fantastic!
I hope you found my first article useful.

Super affiliates do just that. They are ordinary people achieving superior status in what they love. They devote their time, talents and resources to making their dreams a reality.
Let's take a look at ten strategies that have helped ordinary affiliates become "super" affiliates.
1. Find Your Passion
Finding a product or service to get started in is often a difficult task. I find it's always best to start with what interests you or what you are most knowledgeable in. For some, what you are most knowledgeable in might not be your passion or vice versa. In this case, my advice is do the thing that most excites you. If you need knowledge, go and find it. Learn as much as you can, become an expert.
2. Look for a niche
Once you've found a product or service that you are interested in see if you can narrow it down to a smaller niche. For example, you may choose to sell dolls. Since dolls come in many varieties and types, you might narrow it down to only porcelain dolls. This will be your opportunity to grab the smaller niche and specialize in the share of the market that the larger companies don't care about.
Finding a niche also helps eliminate competitors and can help build referrals. Competitors often refer clients to those that can best serve the needs of the customer. If their need is your niche, you've got a winner.
3. Create a web site
Affiliate marketers often send their customers directly to affiliate websites. While this type of marketing can work for some it won't help you achieve the "super" affiliate status.
Pre-sale has become the term du jour. It focuses on building trust and credibility when making a sale. There's very little sales effort and trust built when you simply send someone to a site to buy something. If your viewer is not familiar with that site or the products how can they trust it.
Building a website introduces the products and introduces you. It sets the stage and whets the appetites of your visitors. A well designed website will allow your visitors to become comfortable with what you have to say and they will begin to trust your recommendations. A "super" affiliates best friend is gaining trust.
4. Create an opt-in mailing list
This is an important key to obtaining "super" sales status. Your mailing list establishes a following of readers that want to hear what you have to say and offer.
It's important to build on that relationship by sending helpful tips, strategies and information that will help your readers. Don't bombard them with flashy ads and constant sales information. Offer them recommendations on products that you have used. Provide them free tips and strategies. Run contests and provide motivation. Build friendships and trust and you'll soon build sales as well.
5. Know the products your are selling
Don't try to sell things that you are not familiar with. It's difficult to describe to someone how wonderful a product is if you don't know exactly what makes it so wonderful.
When selling a product you should examine it carefully, detail all of its features and benefits. List exactly what you liked about it or don't like about it. How did you benefit from the product and how might it benefit others. Don't be afraid to mention some less positive aspects of a product. As long as it doesn't discredit the product your audience will appreciate your candor.
6. Write product reviews
Product reviews are an excellent way to achieve sales. It sums up the highlights and provides your readers with a personal touch that describes the finer details of a product they may not otherwise be aware of.
A good review will include a product overview, features, benefits, a personal review, accolades and costs. For installation products you should also include product format, installation requirements, and specify if free trials are available.
7. Offer free bonuses
Everyone loves to get something for free. When you walk into a store and they give you a free sample or offer a free t-shirt, doesn't that make you want to shop around and see more?
The same principle works on the internet. It's a good will gesture that entices your viewers to see what other goodies of interest you may have. It's also an excellent way to entice viewers to sign up for your newsletter or online form.
8. Make yourself available
Allow your visitors to contact you either by email or phone. It's also a good idea to include your address on your site. This helps add to your credibility and shows your visitors that you are a real business.
Encourage feedback and invite questions and suggestions. Always respond to your viewers in a timely manner and be courteous and helpful. People appreciate it when you can take the time to respond to them. You may even reap a reward or two in sales.
9. Chose your affiliate programs carefully
Not all affiliate programs are created equal. There are several things to look for such as how often you will get paid? What is the minimum payout? How much commission does it pay? Is there credit for recurring sales? Will you be rewarded for bringing in new affiliates? Are cookies used to track sales? etc. These are just some of the options you need to investigate.
Don't make the mistake of signing up with an affiliate program that does not contain an affiliate agreement. Always look for, read and understand the agreement carefully before signing up. It may protect the affiliate merchant but it also protects you.
10. Maintain patience and persistence
Patience and persistence is my motto. You won't get far in this business without it. Nothing on the internet happens overnight. It takes hard work, good planning and a persistent desire to be successful.
Don't give up when things are moving slow. Stay focused on what you can do, not on what you can't do. Don't be too anxious and above all, stay persistent.

The program that I manage offers a product feed, and I get a chance to see a sad picture of many good affiliates wasting their potential.
Here is my advice from the affiliate manager's perspective.
Whenever you join (or think bout joining) a program, you need to look for two things:
- Temporary or permanent opportunities
- Flaws of a merchant
Here is an example of an opportunity that was created by an outside factor.
Recently, we got removed from the Yahoo index because of a penalty. I have no idea when (or if) we will get included back in, but I do know that it makes one decision much easier for our affiliates.
Judging by the numerous posts on various SEO-related message boards, it looks like Google and Yahoo use very different algorithms to rank pages. So for any given site, you have a choice to make. You can optimize for Yahoo, for Google, or for both.
Since Yahoo and Google use different algorithms, it is going to be hard to optimize the same set of pages for both of those engines at the same time, unless you employ heavy cloaking. And the way I see it, for an affiliate, it is better to appear high on one search engine than to appear low on both of them in an attempt to optimize for different algorithms at the same time.
Imagine that you are one of our affiliates. Given the information I just told you, shouldn't you concentrate on Yahoo for that data-feed site that is being used to promote our products?
Why spend (at least) half of your time and resources on optimizing for Google when you know that we are nowhere to be found in Yahoo?
You have to have an extremely well linked and optimized site to get ahead of the merchant for the exact product-name search terms. The merchant is your biggest obstacle when it comes to the search engine traffic. So if there is a route that lets you get around that obstacle - take it!
Most of our well-performing affiliates did just that. Either intentionally or unintentionally, they ended up making much more money by appearing high in Yahoo results, while not being ranked high in Google.
So on a practical side of things, here is what you should do.
For your existing merchants, check if they are removed from the index in any of the major search engines, and if they are, then start reading and implementing SEO tips for that particular engine.
And if you are thinking about joining a program and can't decide between several merchants, then check if any of them is not in the index of either Yahoo or Google. If you find a merchant like that - drop everything else you are doing and jump on that program.
As far as theory goes, this was just a simple, but specific example of what you should look for to make your efforts pay off. There are many different opportunities to get ahead in existing programs with data-feed sites; you just have to look for them.
Now, let's talk about flaws of merchants and how you can exploit them to make more money and help consumers at the same time.
I will give another specific example, but you should be able to apply this concept to many different programs.
Our site has one huge structural flaw: we only list products by product-oriented categories.
In other words, there is no way to navigate our site by a specific occasion or by the purchasing intent of a visitor.
You can follow a path like:
widgets -> wooden widgets -> red wooden widgets
This setup works fine for some type of shoppers, but is a complete turn-off for others.
And the problem is that most affiliates simply mirror the catalog structure of a merchant according to their feed.
But if you structured your site to list widgets as:
- widgets for birthdays
- widgets for girlfriends
- widgets for those who are over 50
- the Independence Day widgets etc.
then you would attract different type of shoppers. You would no longer compete with the merchant, but instead you would complement them.
A visitor who is looking for a gift for his 50-something friend and has no idea that a red wooden widget would be perfect, will not travel down the path laid out by our catalog. So if he gets to our home page, we simply lose a sale. And if your data-feed-based site follows the same structure - you lose as sale as well.
Also, since the visitor does not know that he really wants a red wooden widget, he we not use those keywords while searching for a present on the search engines.
But if you attracted that visitor to your site, presented him with ideas for older friends' birthday gifts and guided him to that specific widget's page - then we would make a sale, you would make a commission, and the visitor (turned customer) would get his present with much less searching around. Everyone wins.
Such approach takes more work than simply cloning the merchant's site with a feed, but affiliates who actually do something to complement merchant instead competing with them make a lot more money. After all, if you create a copy of a merchant's site - you are not only competing with the merchant, you are also competing with all of their affiliates that use the same feed in the same way.

ANSWER: Great question, Todd. Affiliate programs can be an excellent way to start an ebusiness. Before we dive into the specifics, let me explain how an affiliate program works.
An affiliate program simply means that you sign on as an affiliate marketer for someone else's product. It's your job to market the product, send the company customers, and get a cut each time a sale is made from your efforts. Affiliate program commissions can range from as little as 2% for high ticket items up to 50% for ebooks and informational type products.
As an example, let's say you sign up with Amazon.com's affiliate program. You are assigned an affiliate code which you use to promote Amazon's books on your website. When someone clicks to purchase an Amazon product from your website, your affiliate code is included in the URL and you get a commission for the sale. Some folks have built elaborate websites that sell nothing but Amazon.com's books, and each time they make a sale they get a piece of the pie.
One of the most appealing aspects of affiliate programs is how quickly you can begin making money. You can literally sign up as an affiliate and begin making money in minutes. I've done it, I know it works.
Admittedly, I am not an affiliate program expert, so I sought out the person that many call the Ultimate Affiliate Program Authority, Rosalind Gardner.
Rosalind Gardner began making money with affiliate programs in 1997. She has since grown her affiliate business into a $400,000 a year business and is now considered the authority on the subject. Her book 'The Super Affiliate Handbook: How to Make a Fortune Selling Other People's Stuff Online' has been out since March and is already considered by many to be the affiliate marketers bible.
I ordered Rosalind Gardner's book as research for this article and I have to tell you I found it to be one of the best books on the subject I have ever read. It's a hype-free approach to what affiliate marketing is really all about and how to make it work. The book is 270 pages and leaves no stone unturned. For anyone serious about making money with affiliate programs, I highly recommend this book.
The bottom line, Todd, is this: you can make a lot of money with affiliate programs, if you pick the right product and do your part to promote it. As for which programs would be best for you, I advise that you concentrate your efforts on one or two products instead of starting with a shotgun approach. Pick only top quality products that hold some personal interest you. Never pick an affiliate product just because you think you'll make a ton of money with it.
Remember, you are starting a business. If it's not a business that holds your interest, you won't be in business very long.

Affiliate marketing programs work by rewarding website owners for choosing to host a variety of advertising materials on their sites. The affiliates are paid on a commission basis; neither party pays any money to one another in the initial transaction. Affiliates are instead paid as and when they attract a new customer to the primary site.
The affiliate-marketing program is one of the most succinct and successful online advertising opportunities. It is a program that runs on efficiency and simplicity, but in a way that works incredibly well for both parties. Industries and internal sectors have thrived thanks in part to their involvement in an affiliate program. The affiliate marketing industry is a cost-effective way for small and large companies alike to reach out and expand their zone of influence. Online sports betting is a form of gaming that has been revolutionised since being introduced to the unrestricted realm of the Internet. By infiltrating a large number of sites, the banners have attracted the attention of literally thousands of people.
On the other hand the affiliate industry is a thriving source of income for millions. In the world of sports betting, affiliates have been reaping the rewards of the huge financial success and popularity of the industry. Individual affiliates can earn anywhere up to 35% of the money generated by each of the players that they introduce. With this revenue lasting for the entire lifetime of a players on the site, then an affiliate has almost unlimited earning potential, akin to that of the industry whom they represent.
With the two industries working in perfect harmony, each helping the other in order to generated extra custom and revenue, the sports betting affiliate program has become an industry to be reckoned with. Unlike most of the other online industries there are no specific personal requirements to become an affiliate either, all that is needed is a website and the will to host and advertise a secondary site. There are no tricks and no strings attached, which is why so many industries and individuals alike have flocked to sign up to the amazing opportunities created by affiliate marketing.

I am sure you'll agree that the standard of your online business' web presence is of paramount importance and this includes, but is not limited to, the look, feel, usability and functionality of your website as well as its search engine ranking.
However, do not let your online business dreams and aspirations die just because you feel overwhelmed by the above.
Do not worry there are solutions, some that cost oodles of money, but there are cheap ones that not only take care of your website problems but also harnesses the power of 3 internet heavyweights into a ready made website for you.
Below are the 3 key internet partners that you need to have incorporated into your website which also needs to be designed by a qualified web designer or by a degreed computer based systems-engineer.
Your site needs to be loaded with Google's adsense Ads encoded with your affiliate ID so that every time someone clicks one your Google Ads on your site you get paid an amount.
This amount can be anything form $0.01 to more than $10.00 a click depending on how much the Google Adwords advertisers have paid etc..
Also the amount you are paid is only a portion of the amount the advertiser will have paid Google for the click.
Google pays affiliate commissions monthly or as soon as there is a balance of $100.00 or more in the affiliate's account.
Clickbank products are a great earner for affiliates.
Not only are they popular and sell fairly easily but there are so many that whatever your interest or field you should be able to find a product that complements your site and interest or area of expertise.
All of the products on your site need to be encoded with your Clickbank affiliate ID so that every time a sale is generated from one of your site's links you will be credited with the commission.
Typical Clickbank commissions are in the range of $25.00 to $35.00 per sale.
Clickbank sends out checks every two weeks so you can always look forward to finding one in your postbox.
Your Website ideally will feature real, live eBay auctions in all categories and the links are embedded with your eBay affiliate ID.
So, when someone clicks an eBay link on your site and buys something you make money.
How easy is that?

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), a Federal agency, defines job stress as: “The harmful physical and emotional responses that occur when the requirements of the job do not match the capabilities, resources, or needs of the worker - Job stress can lead to poor health and even injury.” NIOSH reports the following:
Percentage of workers who report their job is “very or extremely stressful” - 40%
Percentage of workers who report that they are “often or very often burned out or stressed by their work” – 26%
Percentage of workers who report that they feel “quite a bit or extremely stressed at work” – 29% This information and much more information on stress can be viewed on their website at http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/stresswk.html
I actually work more hours than I ever did in mortgage banking, but it’s ok because I enjoy it and I don’t feel the stress. I make the decisions now, work on what I want to, and work when I want to. I have spent hours and hours looking at different affiliate programs and at this point, I think I have found several good ones. The research, making my own decisions, and getting all set up was fun. It is totally different from sitting in an office all day, working on files, going to meetings, meeting deadlines, etc. I don’t miss that life and most of all I don’t miss the commute.
Speaking of the commute, which was stressful to say the least and one of the reasons I decided I had had enough, my commute was close to an hour each way on a good day. On a bad day, it was anyone’s guess. The final straw was one evening while driving home, at about 35 miles an hour because of the traffic; I saw a car and motorcycle collide up ahead of me. It all happened fast but the motorcycle and the man riding it were flying through the air toward my car. The motorcycle landed one lane over from me and the man landed on the pavement directly in front of me. Because I was not going very fast, I was able to stop without hitting him, but believe me, it was a shock. “Shock” is putting it mildly – I was absolutely stunned to see a body and a motorcycle flying through the air and the body landing about ten feet in front me on a major highway. The man was taken away in an ambulance and I never knew his condition. I have thought many times, what if I couldn’t stop? What if I if had been a few feet ahead? What if?
That was the final straw – that’s when I decided I am not doing this anymore. I figured there has to be a better way to make a living and I was so tired of spending 10 hours a week going to work and back. I had already been thinking about it for some time and had actually started doing some work on the internet. I am not suggesting that everyone feeling job stress can or should quit their jobs and start their own on line business, but it is working for me. And yes – my stress level is down!

If you have been looking at ways to earn a bit of extra money from home you may have noticed numerous online promotions. Often they claim to generate huge amounts of money, for little or no effort, but as most people will have no doubt realised you don't get something for nothing in any industry. But with a little bit of initiative and some effort you can earn something from practically nothing by joining a sports betting affiliate scheme.
The affiliate-marketing program is a potentially lucrative form of Internet advertising. It is available to anybody with the Internet and ambition, all that is required is a website of any size and a free sign up to one of the many sports betting sites and you are away. The affiliate program will supply any website owner with all the banners and codes that are required to make the links to them. So then a new affiliate simply needs to arrange their chosen adverts as and where they wish on their site.
Having signed up to a sports betting affiliate program you may be wondering why this is the right affiliate program to join. With any advertising business it helps to have success on your side, and few online industries can rival the financial and membership gains that the online sports betting businesses have produced. Year on year the industry grows by incorporating new members and offering different services. It has grown into a multi-billion dollar industry where the potential is limitless in terms of future profits and memberships numbers. As a sports betting affiliate you will be in line to earn a percentage of each and every player that joins via your sites total lifetime money, coming by way of a monthly pay packet. With percentages ranging from 20 to 35%, it is not hard to see how affiliates all over the world are waking up to the opportunities presented by affiliation with such a large industry.
The question of content for any particular site is one that only the site owner can really choose.
If you have a passion for sports or sports betting you may have a few ideas already circulating in your head. Although the more relevant you can make your site the more likely you are to profit from the right kind of visitors, the choice is up to you. Similarly the amount of marketing that you choose to undertake is your own choice. The more you can spread the name of your affiliate site the greater the chances of attracting a significant number of visitors. In a market as variable as that of affiliates marketing it is important to maximise visibility, because in this industry hits really can create cash.
Marketing options are well documented, from SEO documents to paid advertising on major search engines, the cost and success of each are variable. As your site grows it may be possible to increase your marketing options. But this is by no means a quick fix, affiliate marketing by nature is a slow and progressive way of earning money. So expect to have to wait a while for the profits to start rolling in. But when they do come there may be no stopping them.

Have you ever wondered what exactly is up with Affiliate Marketing? This informative report can give you an insight into everything you've ever wanted to know about Affiliate Marketing.
The idea of being mere passengers on a ship meant to sail to the farthest points does not appeal to people who like to put their destiny into their own hands. They have the desire of maneuvering the ships themselves, of being able to be the ones to take it anywhere they want to. Being aboard a ship on its way to a particularly great destination is something each and every one of them dreams of, and the knowledge that they have the capacity to steer it themselves is what makes them actually want to.
Perhaps this is the reason why more and more people are succumbing to one of the most popular businesses around – affiliate marketing. It is because in this business, there are no bosses to order the employees around. There are no deadlines to meet and no clutter of work do to. One only needs to be equipped with the tools needed to succeed in a business such as this, and he is bound to get what his heart ultimately desires.
Just what are the things needed to be able to succeed in affiliate marketing? What must one have within himself to be able to do well in this industry? There is a lot of competition involved in affiliate marketing, and to be able to rise above the norm, one must be equipped with just the right stuff necessary to propel him forward. There are five things one must ultimately possess if he wants to achieve the glory he is yearning for in this business, and these five things are a must for him to possess to be able to stand out among the rest.
The very first quality one must possess if he wants to try his hand in affiliate marketing is the willingness to learn and be trained. Treading through unfamiliar territory is scary stuff if one is not properly equipped, and he might get lost amidst a jungle of the unknown. Learning the tricks of the trade is also an important aspect of the game, and one’s willingness to know it all will give him far better advantages in the business than he could ever imagine.
The second quality one must possess is the willingness to invest time and effort even if direct results do not seem at all apparent. Although several months may pass without good news, it is important for one who has his foot in the industry to hold on and wait. It is this quality which would save him from giving up after investing a lot of himself in the business.
If you base what you do on inaccurate information, you might be unpleasantly surprised by the consequences. Make sure you get the whole Affiliate Marketing story from informed sources.
The third quality one must possess is self-determination. If one wants to conquer the affiliate marketing world, he must have the ability to push himself ahead. Never having to say die is a quality each and every affiliate marketer should possess, and the ability to motivate oneself into scaling greater heights is an ability which would actually take an affiliate marketer there.
The fourth quality one must possess is discipline. If one knows how to teach himself to work everyday with all the energy he can muster, then he is close to achieving what he has set his heart to having in the first place.
The fifth and last quality one must possess is optimism. Negative attitudes and hearsays should not discourage an affiliate marketer from pursuing what he has to in order to make life better for himself and for everyone concerned. Neither should anyone influence his attitude toward the business, because once in it, it is a must for him to be the captain of his ship and the master of his soul.
The ingredients to success in a business such as affiliate marketing are diverse and manifold, but the most important thing one needs to be able to make it big lies in himself alone. It is he who has the capacity to do everything to be able to realize his prospects, and the desire which fuels his heart in doing so is the gasoline which should keep the engine going.
Affiliate marketing is all about putting one’s fate into his own hands. The right attitude is the key to being able to steer one’s ship into that part of the ocean where a certain kind of serenity can be found, one that permeates the atmosphere as the ship sails calmly on.
There's a lot to understand about Affiliate Marketing. We were able to provide you with some of the facts above, but there is still plenty more to write about in subsequent articles. http://www.internet-marketing-ez.com/

So there you are sitting in front of your monitor while the others are all watching the latest soaps. Ad's are filling your screen as you click through them one by one looking for that perfect business opportunity that is going to make you rich beyond your wildest dreams.
Each sales page promises more than the previous and it is really becoming a difficult decision as to exactly how rich you want to be. The headlines scream at you, “Make One Million In 6 months”, “Write Your Own Paycheck”, “The Secret Of Earning Multiple Streams Of Income” and so it goes on.
You become so exited with your new found wealth that you give the dog your prime fillet which you bought an hour ago, knowing that after starting up you will never be looking back while the money pours into your bank account.
If this were true we would have a awful amount of extremely happy dogs not knowing the meaning of dog food, but in reality affiliate marketing is not what it seems.
However that which is stated is not entirely untrue. You can achieve all or many of what is mentioned, but you are not going to do it in 15 minutes per day and on autopilot.
Now, back to reality. How do I do it?
The easiest way starting out as a internet marketer is by being an affiliate for other peoples products. The reasons are quite simple and obvious, you do not need your own website and all the technical jargon associated with it and you don't have to spend money and time creating your own product. All you need to do is drive traffic to the affiliate site, they make the sales, you just pick up your cash.
To find products to promote as a affiliate is not difficult. There are thousands available for you to choose from. Some will charge money to join but most will be free.
As an affiliate marketer the aim is not promoting one product only, it's like putting all your eggs in one basket. Choose about 5 or even more in different areas, ones you find interesting and which you think might be good sellers. Take your time when choosing and read through everything, remember at the end of the day it will be your money driving traffic to that site, make your money work for you.
Here are a few things you need to keep in mind when choosing your affiliate products.
Have a look at when and how they pay you your commissions.
The percentage commission they will be paying you.
Preferably choose ones that pays a high commission and pays into your account as soon as the sale is made. That will keep you from losing money from sales because in many instances you will not be able to track any sales activity.
All that said and done you are now armed to the teeth with affiliate links, the dog is happily eating a prime fillet, so lets get on with it.
The most common way to generate traffic fast is PPC (pay per click). Google adwords is the big dog in town but there are a few others which you can easily find doing a simple search. It's quite easy to sign up and then you are ready to go.
Now the kind people from the affiliate programs you joined have possibly given you keywords that you can just copy and paste into your Google adwords. Now all you need to do is copy and paste them, make your bid and the money will start rolling in.
Here's the bad news, unless you are in business to lose money, this is all you will be doing and the dog will have to revert back to dog food and you to bread and water. Your advertising is going to cost you much more than your income.
This said, you can make it as a affiliate, and you can make a lot of money, you are however going to have to do some work.
Your main aim is to find cheap and underexposed keywords. Lets take a example of Google adwords.
If you copy and paste the keywords given to you, the chances are good that a lot of other affiliates are also using the exact same keywords. So for you to get ad into the top 10 or first page you will need to bid high. Let's say you end up bidding 50 cents for a pretty broad keyword. The product you are selling is selling for $47 of which you receive 50% commission, $23.50 less banking charges. In effect that means that for every 47 clicks you receive you must make one sale to just break even. I can tell you now on a broad keyword you will get 47 clicks but you will not get one sale. To find out how a keyword is performing and converting into sales is to base it on 200 clicks. When reaching that target take a look at the conversion rate, how many clicks per sale. If you have made no sales, or just one, you need to refine your keywords because you are hitting the wrong target market.
Where and how do you find and implement these seemingly elusive keywords. I mean there are only so many words in the English language!
Take a good look at the affiliates website you joined, and see what it is that makes this a unique product that customers should have. Now please this answer does not lie in the first words you read on the page, the headline or sub headline. Read through the entire affiliate sales page and find your own unique ideas, be different.
Now that you have the idea clearly in your mind, think up a few keywords that fit this idea and will relate well to the product you are trying to sell. Come up with a few single words and some two word phrases. Write all of these down until you have about ten or fifteen.
You have your adwords account, open the Overture keyword tool and use both of them. You can download Good Keywords for free and it will provide you with an enormous amount of information.
Take your single and two word phrases and combine them into three and four word phrases. Test these in your tools to see how many searches take place and test different combinations of these words until you find the right combination.
Once you have determined good combination keyword phrases, add them to your keyword list in your account. Chances are that you will be able to get into the top 10 easily with the lowest bid.
Target your market with specific targeted 3 and 4 word phrases, they will get you quality clicks, cheaply, with the target market generating sales.
You have heard the term find your niche over and over, but believe me if you are going to try to hit broadly you are going to lose money.
You can be a successful affiliate, but you need to put the time and effort in finding the right target audience for your product. Getting the balance right is the ultimate goal of your business.

It is a fact that 95% of the people who joined an affiliate program is not involved in the money making process after a year of signing up. Those are the “quitters”. For the rest of us, some will make it and some won’t but your chances of making it are much higher due to the time and work that you put in it, and the number of referrals you gained during this time. This is when you start seeing some pretty good results, at least compared to your first month check. You have to give it a try for at least a year to even consider working with another company or don’t do anything anymore.
You need to work consistently everyday and do not fear rejection. I know people who are even afraid of sending email to their downline because they are afraid of sending them too much email and they may opt-out of the program and will loose that affiliate. Let me tell you this, if you have a downline with affiliates who are doing nothing, you get that, nothing. It does not make any difference if they quit or not, but by sending them recent news from the company, new software that you know, or even new advertising method, you get good qualified affiliates that will follow you over time.
“I have no money” How many times have you heard that? The truth is that they do not trust you or the company enough to put some money into it. Everyone has 20$-30$ a month. They are just afraid you are going to steal the money from them. Tell them the truth about the company and how, with persistence and hard work from their part they can be successful. Show them your numbers, tell them your advertising methods and the amount of money you invest in your business. Make them feel part of it, and if you can, write a step by step method to become successful with your Affiliate Program.
Advertising is a numbers game, we all know that, but good advertising is hard to find this days.
That is why you need to have control of your advertising campaigns and see which ones are working for you and continue doing what you are doing. You do not need money to advertise.
You can use a link at the bottom of every email that leaves your computer. Write articles. Exchange links. Add content to your website. We all know these basic principles, but we also know that it is very time consuming and painful hours in front of your computer. But that is why we call it work.
You need to see it as a hobby and spend a full hour a day working as hard as you can. Put your soul into it. And remember, you only loose the game when you quit.

Making money online doesn't need to be a dull and it doesn't require a huge financial backing, best of all there are options available to everybody. It is the perception of most people that money can only be made on the Internet if you have either a ground breaking idea or sign up to a shady scheme or two. But there are in fact a number of ways to earn honest money, in an easy cost and risk free environment. The opportunities generated by the surge in the popularity of the Internet have created a number of money-making schemes, few of which are as a successful or as popular as affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing may sound like an intricate and complicated advertising system, but in truth it is a simplistic business well within the reach of even the least technologically minded Internet user. All that is required is a website and a quick sign up to one of the dozens of affiliate programs available and you are away. Most affiliate marketing programs will supply their sites with all of the relevant advertising materials such as banners and text links. These unique marketing banners supply the key to all affiliate programs as they can accurately trace where a customer comes from, and thus more importantly who to pay. This is achieved through individual URL's and a fully automated system, which makes sure all the affiliates get paid without even lifting a finger.
The key to becoming a successful affiliate is to first align yourself with a distinct market sector or industry. The size and popularity of an industry can make the difference between success and failure of an affiliate. There are a number of industries that provide affiliate programs, but one of the most successful niche markets is that of online gaming. Breaking down the online gaming sector further, a new affiliate can refine their field of expertise further, choosing something like sports betting. The betting industry has always been a popular offline pursuit, but it's spread through the Internet has been nothing short of phenomenal. It has become a huge multi-billion dollar industry, which has been quick to recognise the contribution of the all-important affiliates that have supplied millions of customers to the companies over the years.
Affiliates representing the sports betting industry sites, can expect to earn a favourable percentage of up to 35% of a players lifetime money generated for the site. Every time a player bets and loses the affiliate stands in line to earn their percentage of the money, just as a bookmaker does. From the affiliate point of view, attracting these customers is a simplistic business mostly based on good fortune. But as with all industries you can make your own luck through a little research and work. By optimising an affiliate site and attracting more traffic an affiliate can obviously earn far more money. More hits can turn into more cash, which is the ideal for all affiliates. There is no single key to success, but affiliate marketing is a simple way for anyone, with any budget and skills to tap into a lucrative online market and get their cut of the action.

Build a list. If you have been involved with affiliate marketing for any length of time I am sure you have heard the quote "The money is in the list". Well that is very true. You're not just looking for a sale, you are looking to build a following. You need to collect names for a mailing list. To do this, just get a good auto responder set up (you can always start off with a free one).
Give people an incentive to join your list. Give away a free e-book, or write an email course on a topic that you know well.
Now don't spam your list. Send them quality information. You can include a link to a product here and there, but not all the time. You will build a reputation of only recommending something when it is really good. Then your subscribers will be more apt to buy it.
Always answer you emails. The personal touch is what people are looking for. They just don't want to deal with a faceless computer. They want to know someone who cares about them and their future is on the other side. After all they will be giving you their hard earned money.
Start a forum or a discussion group. Have a give away to attract new members. Now you are building a strong community. They see you as the forum administrator so you must know what you are talking about. Also include in your forum signup that they will be auto entered into your newsletter. Now your list is really growing.
Write some articles on the subject of your affiliate program. Work links to your forum, newsletter and product into it. Submit the article to other forums, web sites, and article submission sites. This will give your links very wide expose.
Keep good records of all of your contacts and sales. When someone purchases a product make sure that they are added to your list. You will now be able to sell additional products to them.
The key is to give them a constant reminder that you are there to help them. With all the different products out there you need to keep your name fresh in their heads.
Always look professional. Proofread all of your sales material and use a good spell check.
Remember running an online business is the same as running an off line one, just with fewer overheads. Now get out there and start selling.
Michael RussellYour Independent guide to Affiliate Programs
For one thing, you stand to save thousands by not needing to develop and test a product of your own; you just use someone else's already proven winner as your own. Also, you can skip worrying about designing your own website; here again, use what is supplied for you by the merchant, and run with it. This saves a lot of headaches, time, and, you guessed it -- money.
You'll also have the enviable last word on whether or not to continue promoting anyone's product based on its performance. If it doesn't sell, give it up. You're your own boss.
For all the reasons touched upon above, as well as for a few others not yet discussed for the sake of brevity, affiliate marketing has evolved into one of the most effective ways to start an online business. And, for anyone with a decent website, it's also one of the easiest ways to start seeing a profit online.
WHAT'S AFFILIATE MARKETING?
Affiliate Marketing is an agreement between a merchant (owner of the product), and a website owner (the promoter). The website owner, or the affiliate, allows the use of their site for the promotion of the merchant's products by linking to the merchant's website. In exchange, the merchant pays a commission to the affiliate on all sales generated by the affiliate.
Every time someone clicks on the link in the affiliate website and proceeds to make a purchase, the affiliate gets a commission. Obviously, a commission is earned by the affiliate only when a customer makes a purchase.
Affiliate marketing programs are described as a win-win situation, for both the merchant and the affiliate, because of the pay-for-performance scheme. And, as you'll see, both the merchant and the affiliate do enjoy specific benefits in this arrangement.
HOW THE MERCHANT BENEFITS
There are many benefits on the merchant's side. It gives the merchant a wider customer base to advertise their product or service to. Affiliate marketing gives the product or service the maximum exposure that it could possibly get, as compared to any other traditional advertising technique.
It goes without saying, the more affiliate sites a merchant has, the higher the traffic, and the higher the chances of converting visitors into sales.
Affiliate marketing is the equivalent of having an army of sales people who do all the promoting, and only get paid a commission if a customer purchases. If their efforts fail to make a sale, the merchant isn't out of pocket one thin dime. The burden of performance is, thus, squarely on the shoulders of the affiliate.
It's a "what-have-you-done-for-me-lately?" kind of scenario.
HOW THE AFFILIATE BENEFITS
As described, an affiliate marketing relationship is a win-win situation, so the affiliate also enjoys many benefits.
Foremost among these, is the easy chance to make a profit. The affiliate can earn by having an ad or link leading to the merchant's website, which prospective customers will hopefully click.
As soon as the customer clicks on the ad on the affiliate's site, they're redirected to the merchant's website, and if they make a purchase, the affiliate earns a commission. The more prospects being referred, the more profit potential for the affiliate.
Affiliate marketing is an excellent way to earn money from home. There are no product production costs. The product is already developed and proven by the merchant. All you have to do to is find as many prospects as you can who will visit the merchant's web site.
There are countless, capable affiliates who have mastered the art of convincing prospects to visit the websites they promote. This elite group of marketers earns big chunks of money from their grateful merchants.
In affiliate marketing, start up costs are minimal, if any at all. In addition, there is absolutely no sales experience required. Most affiliate programs offer excellent support when it comes to providing marketing material. The simplicity of affiliate marketing allows you to be an affiliate marketer with the least cost and the most support.
You can even build a successful affiliate marketing business right in the comfort of your own home, which is what most affiliates do. In affiliate marketing, your responsibility is simply to find prospects for the merchant; you do not have to worry about inventory, order processing, or product shipping. These, along with customer service, are the duties of the merchant.
Another benefit of an affiliate marketer is the freedom you enjoy. If the product you're advertising isn't making money, you can dump it and choose another. There are no long-term binding contracts tying you to products that are not profitable. As an affiliate marketer, you have the last word about what you promote.
This kind of freedom is something you'll never see in the offline world if you're in sales. For instance, if you're shoe salesman, and your company's buyer blew it this season and bought nothing but alligators, it's very unlikely that you'll turn your back on your career as a result, and start selling home owner's insurance, or kids' bicycles. Chances are, you'll have to stick it out, and hope for something better next year - or, for a different doggone buyer!
By far, the best benefit of being an affiliate marketer is an unparalleled opportunity to increase your income; and, you can make good money even if affiliate marketing is only a sideline business.
Indeed, as you've seen, affiliate marketing is one of the simplest and most effective business opportunities available online today, or anywhere else, for that matter.

1. Who is an Affiliate?
An affiliate is someone who joins with another merchant’s website to sell their products or services, on a commission basis.
2. Do we have to pay anything to become an Affiliate or join in an Affiliate Program?
Affiliate membership is free with most of the companies. There are companies where you have to buy their product and then automatically you become their affiliate. To start your career it is better to join with free affiliate programs.
3. What is Affiliate marketing?
An affiliate through his/her own efforts drives traffic to the company’s website to generate sales. The affiliate gets the commission from the company for his productive efforts.
4. How does an affiliate drive traffic to the company’s site in order to produce a sale?
Most of the companies teach their affiliates in their member’s area for free, and also through their newsletters. If you educate yourself with the proper training it will not be difficult to get more visitors. They educate their affiliates to succeed because their success lies in their affiliates’ success.
5. Which types of companies are best to join?
Any company that offers a decent percentage of commission to their affiliates are good to join and do affiliate marketing for them. The companies who offer two-tier payments will be better to get more commission.
6. What is meant by “two-tier” payments?
The company rewards their affiliates for their own sales generated and also a smaller percentage of the commission of the sales produced by their sub-affiliates who are recruited by these affiliates. For example, if an affiliate gets 30% (or whatever percentage) as commission for his/her own productive efforts and also gets paid for the efforts of his/her sub-affiliates (say about 50 in number) a smaller percentage (say about 10%) of all the 50 sub-affiliates, the Affiliate gets a better income for his Affiliate Marketing business.
