Marketing - The Affiliate Marketers Survival Kit

The Affiliate Marketers Survival Kit contains a balanced collection of tools. Low ticket items, mid-range ticket items and high ticket items.

Typically these high ticket items will be in excess of $970.

A noteworthy part of the survival kit is ongoing research for better earning products. A developing trend is for affiliate marketers to seek out such products at events put on by the likes of Commission Junction which runs CJU gatherings for affiliate marketers and retailers to work out specific marketing deals.

In addition there are three tactics that stand out from the rest to ensure the affiliate marketer not only survives but thrives. And some of them excel. Rosalind Gardiner earns more than $300,000 a year selling the products of others.

Here are the three tactics

1. Dedicated Web Page

All successful affiliate marketers strive to have custom built dedicated web pages. In other words their only purpose is to attract visitors who are assumed to be seeking information.

Good marketers know that visitors will flee a site that is not content rich on the subject of interest. The object is to get the visitor to come back for repeat visits and as they get comfortable with all the information they get motivated to click from an article page to a merchant product page.

2. Valuable Without Cost Reports to Your Readers

Affiliate marketers offer their visitors, in addition to lots of quality content, the opportunity to get a free e-course targeted to their interests. This gets them on an aweber autoresponder mailing list for up to seven weeks.

This way there is a strong client affiliate relationship developed. This often leads to lifetime customer loyalty on the part of the client who returns often to the site to make purchases.

3. Attract Hungry Traffic that is targeted to your product.

Affiliate marketers want traffic to their web site that is targeted as possible. That way they can have a solid ongoing Internet business with client groups as small as 200.

Other tactics, other than article writing, to attract the desired visitor traffic include investing in Google Adwords campaigns. Here the marketer bids on Google keywords and places small adds on their search pages to encourage searchers to visit their sites.

You can use these tips to launch your affiliate marketing online business. Be warned that this is not a get rich quick activity . Despite what you hear and read.

Get into affiliate marketing for the long haul and watch and adapt to the trends.

Then success will belong to you.

Most people don’t even realize that this is a possibility and easier than you may think. So lets get to the part where I reveal to you how you can do this to with ease.

There are 2 main ways to make money online using Google.

1. Google Adwords
2. Google Adsense

GOOGLE ADWORDS

Google adwords is the advertisers program that Google has. Advertisers can create little ads and bid how much they want to spend on a specific search keyword.

Lets say you wanted to find out about Ways to make money online. You would go to Google or any other search engine for that matter and type that phrase into the search box. Once the search is complete you will get a list of results. Take a close look on the right hand side of the page and you will notice that there a “sponsored ads”. They are the advertisers ads that the advertiser has bid on your keyword you just typed.

Now you to can sign up as an advertiser, (for FREE) and place ads and bid on keywords. What for you ask? You can sell other peoples products or services as an affiliate without even owning a website by placing ads on certain keywords relating to the product or service you are promoting. In doing so, whenever you make a referred sale you get a commission for that sale. Check out Intervestonline to read more on this subject.

GOOGLE ADSENSE

Google Adsense on the other hand is a simple way that a current owner of a website can monetize their site to generate some income. By registering with Google Adsense (for FREE) you can place a small amount of code that Google give you, on your website and your site will show relevant Ads from the Adwords advertisers. If a visitor clicks on one of those ads, Google pays you a share of the profits. You have just made FREE money that you would have made otherwise.

Adsense works well on sites that have lots of content with lots of keywords that may be used in a search on a search engine. Preparation - the Way to Success

I have two questions to ask you. One. How much time do you spend marketing your affiliate programs? Two. How much time do you spend preparing to market your affiliate programs?

Which of those two questions do you think is the most important? I say the second. Without

doing your preparation "homework," you will lose your focus.

The affiliate programs that you promote are "your" products. Take the time to learn everything you can about that product. Even though you are not actually selling the product (you should be PRE-selling), you still must know what you are talking about.

The best way to do that, of course, is to own the product yourself. But whether you own the product or not, study the sales copy that was written by the owner of the product. You'll be able to lead your prospects toward "the click" much easier if you know why you want them to click on that link.

When preparing an advertising campaign, ask yourself what you want to achieve. That is your goal.

Now write down the steps that you need to take to get to that goal. Don't forget that there can be more than one way to get there. Use your imagination!

Let's say you want to use ezine advertising. There are several options that you can choose. You can use free ads, purchase ads through ezine co-ops, buy top sponsor and solo ads directly from each newsletter publisher, or write articles and send to the publishers.

Choose one of the options and follow through with it. Then choose the next option, then the next. Don't forget to track your ads to see which advertising method is working best for you.

Try other avenues of advertising as well. Explore new ones that you find and track the results.

The more you have - that are working for you - the more commissions you will make.

By preparing the framework for an advertising campaign, you can use that framework for later advertising - with minor changes to accommodate the new information. I use it as a "task list" to follow. This helps to keep me focused on what I have to do.

Don't get me wrong. Advertising or marketing is important. But you MUST know what you want your prospect to do. Take your prospect by the hand and lead him or her to the click. The time it takes to prepare for an advertising campaign will be well worth it.

Unique Joint Venture Twist: Make Huge Profits Even If You Have No Money, No Products, and No List

by Rick Miller

Would you like to jumpstart your online or offline business without spending a ton of money?

Without a doubt, joint venture marketing is the most powerful secret to making money online or offline.

In its simplest form, you partner with someone else: You either sell their product to your customer base or they sell your product to theirs.

The true power of this lies in the fact that it's much easier to sell a product to an existing customer, rather than going out and trying to get another customer.

Here's the twist:

What if you could use joint venture marketing without having a product, very little money, and little or no customer list?

Let's see what one of the foremost authorities on joint ventures has to say about this unique use of the joint venture idea ...

Marc Goldman is a world-class authority on joint venture marketing, building a website that ranks in the top 6,000 most-visited websites. That's quite an accomplishment considering the millions of websites in existence.

What's more important though is that he's been using joint venture marketing since his first day in business in 1994.

In a recent interview, he offered this simple formula to quickly profit from joint ventures.

(Note: To access Marc Goldman's complete audio interview for fre^e, see end of article)

You simply perform the role of a Joint Venture broker--you bring together partners who can add value to what the other party offers.

For a great online example of this technique, suppose you find a great product on the Internet that you love ...

You could hook up the owner with other Internet marketers who have an existing customer base, and get a commission from the sales.

If the product has a two-tier affiliate program, you simply sign up as an affiliate. You automatically get commissions from the sales of the marketers you convinced to promote the product (who sign up under you).

If you're hooking the product owner up with marketers who have a huge customer base, try to negotiate a higher commission than the normal second level commission.

If the product owner currently does not have an affiliate program, simply approach the owner--make a proposal to get a specific commission on any sales from the partners you bring to him.

Having purchased Marc's Joint Venture Brokering Mastery Seminar, I can testify to the effectiveness of his techniques.

The broker idea works equally well offline ...

Just one case in point:

I joined up an owner of three dilapidated rental houses who just wanted to get rid of them with someone who wanted to buy some land to build a gun shop. Each party got what they wanted and, at closing, I received a check for $8,835.92 ... definitely a nice commission for only several hours' work and no money down.

With that in mind, go out today, have your best day ever, and keep your eyes out for people who you can help by bringing them together with someone else who can help them.

Of course, make sure you remember to get your slice of the profits ...

Old Clickbank Affiliate Programs That Drain Your Cash

Becoming an affiliate and marketing products and services online in return for sales commission is a simple process that takes just minutes to set up. Online marketing is often brokered by marketplaces that serve as platforms for publisher affiliate programs.

Clickbank is one of the biggest marketplaces for e-products and affiliate programs. The affiliate programs are simple to join but to make money you need to steer away from the pitfalls that can quickly drain your money and time.

To make money online the need to identify printable programs is imperative since you will (or at least should) be putting some effort into marketing the chosen program - otherwise you won’t be successful.

If you choose the wrong program.. the lame product or the passé offer that has multiplied itself into countless clones throughout the web.. your money and time will effectively be wasted.

The Clickbank marketplace has some basic statistics you can use to find a suitable program. The “Payout stats” tends to draw attention. For a popular product it might look something like:

“PAYOUT STATS: $earned/sale: $ 29.00, %earned/sale: 75.0 %, %referred: 80.0 %, gravity: 390.00”

The first part: earned/sale $ is the average amount earned per affiliate for each referred sale net value, meaning what you can expect to get for a sale

The second: earned/sale % shows how much of the total sale value you will be getting

The third: referred: % shows how much of the publishers sales comes from affiliate programs (not a very dependable figure)

The last one: gravity: 390.00 points to how popular and effective this affiliate program/product is in relation to affiliate sales. It is based on a number of variables such as affiliate popularity, sales value over x-time, etc, and is not a absolute number of how many affiliates are making sales, rather it is a weighed number against the variables…. In short it points to how many sales have been made.

But all of the above only serve as indications. Much more important is the actuality or freshness of the product and the affiliate support / resources supplied by the publisher.

The most important parts to focus on are the publisher support – do they supply marketing tools, give-aways, banners, sales letter etc you can use? What do the landing pages look like? Some supply brandable landing pages which are a cool feature and easy to implement.

All landing pages MUST BE UPDATED. There are loads of publisher programs you can join as an affiliate that have landing / pitch pages that are copyrighted 2005, 2004 or even earlier.

What does this tell the shopper you have managed to funnel to the page? Do you think they will bring out the credit card and send you some money?

Bottom line: Think as the end-consumer in all instances and you will reap the profits. Be dazzled by the bright lights and you will not.

The Lazy Way to Increase Your Sales Immediately… Without Spending a Single Penny!

Let’s start at the beginning… First of all, how do you define an affiliate program, or affiliate system? It’s a system in which an owner, developer or creator of a product allows other people outside of his or her own company to promote the product for them, in return for a percentage of the commissions.

Most successful marketers online use this resource to their advantage, because lets face it, it's far easier for 100 people to sell 1000 units of a product than it is to have one person sell a thousand units of a product.

Of course it’s possible for one person to sell 1000 units, but we don't have all the time in the world, so affiliates are generally the answer, and should make up a large amount of your business' revenue if you're promoting your own products.

In case you're kind of underestimating the situation, don't have any affiliate system in place, or haven't decided to fully utilize this type of system within your business, let me put a scene to you to make this all crystal clear. Here’s the situation;

You're a business owner, you've just launched your shiny new site, which just happens to sell the same product as Mr. X here. Both yours and Mr. X’s product are priced at $500. The difference is you've built yourself up a relatively modest 150 affiliates, and Mr. X is doing all the promotion alone.

Now imagine you each make ten sales in the first month through personal promotion. You both make $5000. Great, but when your affiliates come in, it's easy to see how this figure can double.

Now of course not all of your affiliates are going to be heavy hitters, great promoters or even make any sales at all, ever. But lets say just 10% of your affiliates, just 15 of them, make a measly three sales each in that same month at 60% commissions? Pulling out my handy calculator, I can tell you that through those three sales from a small percentage of your affiliates, you've just made an extra $9000, bringing your total to $14000 for that month.

You're laughing, and poor Mr. X. He was one of the many marketers out there that didn't take this type of affiliate marketing seriously, or didn't see any real profit in it. Meanwhile, you've just pocketed in 4 weeks what it takes a lot of people in regular jobs four or five months, often longer, to earn.

Are you starting to see the power of affiliates? If you have an online business, or some products you wish to sell online – then do take a look at using affiliates as your silent sales force!

Increasing Your Affiliate Program Profits Using Product Recommendations

In affiliate marketing, there are numerous ways in which you can increase your earnings and maintain the account that you have worked so hard for. One of the more important and effective ways of increasing affiliate marketing bottom line is the use of product recommendations. Experienced Internet Marketers are already familiar with this approach.

Before you delve headlong into product recommendations, here are important pointers to consider.

Credibility matters

When you have earned the trust of those who have bought from you in the past or and prospective buyers, then they will definitely trust your recommendations. Be very careful in using this approach, though. Do not start promoting everything by recommendation, or else your credibility will wear thin especially when recommendations are seemingly exaggerated and without merit.

Spend time to do product research result. Do not push a lemon.

State the advantages and disadvantages of the product you are recommending.

Do not just list the advantages of the product or service you are recommending. Avoid being overly biased about it. There is no perfect product in the market. Every product has limitations.

If there are things you do not like about a given product or service, does not be afraid to mention them. This will make your recommendation more realistic and increase your credibility.

Furthermore, if your prospective buyers are interested in what you are offering, they will be more than delighted to learn of the advantages and disadvantages about the product. It gives them a realistic expectation of the product or service.

Listing advantages and disadvantages of the product you are promoting will work effectively for your advantage.

Sound like the leading expert in your field.

If your visitors perceive you are an expert in your field, they would be more inclined to making that purchase even if the price is higher. If you do not exude confidence and self-assurance in endorsing your products, you will lose prospective buyers very quickly though your pricing may be rock bottom. People may think they going to get a raw deal.

Keep in mind this simple relation: When trust increases price resistance decreases.

By offering unique solutions prospective buyers would not get anywhere else, you establish an aura of expertise. Provide proof that the product you are promoting delivers as promised. Use testimonials, and endorsements from respected and known personalities related to your field. They lend weight to your product recommendations.

Avoid marketing hype

Be confident and self-assured. There is no need to scream and kick up a fuss. Prospects are not brain dead. They may already be well informed about certain products. Back your claim with hard facts and data. Pay attention to your presentation. Remember, prospects can easily source for the products you are promoting elsewhere.

Avoid marketing hype at all costs.

Offer promotional freebies

When recommending a product, it is also important that you give out promotional freebies. Offering freebie to promote your product is a common practice. But few marketers do this to promote affiliate products. Offer freebies that promote or contain information about affiliate products or services you are marketing.

Tried and tested

Before you recommend a product or service, test it. Do not overlook product after sales support. Until you are fully persuaded by a product's usefulness, you cannot effectively promote a product.

Also recommending a lemon of a product or service will diminish your credibility and trust among your prospective buyers.

Just think how long it took you to build credibility and trust among your visitors. All it takes is to recommend a lemon, and customers' confidence in you is reduced to zero.

There you are, the important pointers of product recommendations. Increase your affiliate program profits using product recommendations and be among those who have proven its worth.

Knocking The Mythology Out of Affiliate Network Marketing

If you have worked as an Internet marketer for any amount of time, you have probably heard repeatedly that affiliate network marketing opportunities are the most lucrative, cleanest, quickest way to make an income on the Internet. And if you have actually tried affiliate network marketing for any amount of time, you more than likely ended up broke or never achieved more than modest, fluctuating success. . .like almost everyone else who goes into the field.

So what prevents you and 97% of all other affiliate marketers from succeeding while 3% continually rakes in 70% of the profits? Are they smarter than you are? Do they work harder and longer than you do? Do they know a bunch of obscure secrets that you do not?--No, but they do have a totally different mindset.

In order to become successful in affiliate network marketing, you must destroy the mythological mindset that most people bring to the business. You must stay firmly grounded in reality if you ever want to succeed.

How many times have you heard about some little old lady that only spends 3 hours a week on her computer and somehow earns $50,000 a month? And how many times have you read an ad that tells you how you can make $10,000 in one month from now if you sign up right away?

We have all seen these ads and we have all responded to them at one time or another. Chances are, if you're in an affiliate program now, you were hooked by a line like that. But what separates the "gurus" from the people who make little or no money is that the gurus understand what this really is: mythology. These stories, while they might be true, promote mythological thinking that tricks people into trying every opportunity that looks good at the moment, rather than focusing on a single opportunity.

These "opportunities" not only prevent you from succeeding, but they have an even nastier byproduct: they promote the mythology that you either succeed on the Internet in 15 minutes or you will never succeed at all.

This is simply not true, yet it is the reason why almost no one succeeds with affiliate marketing: they can never stay with one opportunity more than a couple months. If they do not have instant success, they give up and move on--restarting the same building process they abandoned. They never reap the profit of cumulative efforts. They build a foundation, they leave before starting the actual building--and then they move to another company, start the foundation, and then leave once again.

Without exception, every successful Internet marketer has spent an enormous amount of time both researching and experimenting with online business. Most have failed miserably a number of times and most have spent a significant amount of time working their way to the top and achieving profit. It really is pretty hard to earn an income on the Internet, but it is entirely doable if you are following a proven plan and if you are willing to abandon lofty mythology for a plan rooted in reality.

Affiliate marketing is one of the best places to start making a profit online. In fact, almost every successful Internet marketer I know started her career selling affiliate products. Many of them still do. What made them successful is that they found a legitimate opportunity to make money (whether or not it was the best one available), they found replicable processes that got them visitors and profit, and then they repeated those processes and reinvested those profits until they got to where they are now.

Most people cannot accept that making money with affiliate programs is this simple. I have found that most affiliate marketers who do not earn an income online either a) do not want to do actual work or b) have developed a mythological mindset from reading affiliate program advertisements--and can only think in terms of making money on the Internet through magic, rather than results-oriented action.

In closing, I will summarize and then dispel all of the popular Internet affiliate marketing myths, so you can skip the learning curve and start building your empire today:

Myth #1: There is an affiliate program out there that will do all of the work for you and make you rich without requiring effort on your part.

Truth: You have a much better chance of earning an income on the Internet if you work on the affiliate program you are in currently in (as long as it is a legitimate opportunity) than if you search the entire Internet for a better opportunity. There is definitely a lot to be said for having a responsive, successful upline, but ultimately, your success will depend on your actions. You can sell anything on the Internet; you just have to spend enough time in the building and learning process.

Myth #2: You must spend an exorbitant amount of money on advertising to make money on the Internet.

Truth: Every single successful Internet marketer puts heavy testing, good design, and reliable follow-up over heavy spending. They minimize costs and they make sure what they are actually spending produces empirically-acceptable results.

If you ignore this you will fail. A lot of real life corporations spend thousands of dollars monthly on PPC campaigns and end up making no money at all because they don't start small and test their results. They just throw money at the problem and hope for sales. You don't have thousands of dollars to throw away, so don't do this.

Myth #3: You will succeed or fail on the Internet or on any Internet money-making venture within month.

Truth: Most Internet marketers have spent time building an enormous empire with big mailing lists and regular website visitors. They worked to become successful. You must also.

If you want to find an affiliate program that makes you rich instantly without putting in any work, then continue spending money. Send me an email when you find it because I have personally looked at hundreds--and while some are better than others--none offer success without action.

The Internet is riddled with mythology. If you want to succeed, you must reject this mythology and look for clear, work-for-results solutions. You must create plans and put them into action immediately. You must build and cultivate a base of subscribers and visitors. And above all, you must accept that you can only achieve profit through sweat, not luck.

3 Ways To STOP Affiliate Link "Hijackers"

Let's face the facts!

Almost everyone online today is looking to make or save a buck any way they can. In the past, most of the people who clicked on your affiliate links used to purchase without a second thought... but, as times get tougher online, it seems a growing number won't!

As money gets tighter and product prices rise, people who know how to manipulate the system will sometimes replace your affiliate ID with theirs and "hijack" your commissions.

Here's an example:

Let's say your affiliate link is www.ebookaboutcats.com/?live-well.

Say the highjacker uses the affiliate ID of captain-hook. What he would do is replace your ID with his, and buy from the URL www.ebookaboutcats.com/?captain-hook.

The bottom line: the hijacker puts your money in his pocket.

In other cases, they can't stand the thought of you "making money off them" so they bypass you by simply chopping off the end of your affiliate link that contains your ID.

Instead of buying from www.ebookaboutcats.com/?live-well, the bypasser will simply "chop off" the affiliate ID at the end and simply buy from the plain URL www.ebookaboutcats.com --without your affiliate ID attached!

Either way, you get cheated out of your rightful commission.

To help you fight these affiliate link hijackers I offer a couple of my best (proven and battle tested) tips, which will at least confuse these "hijackers" and, in many cases, often defeat and disarm them completely.

Side Note: If someone really, really wants to steal your affiliate commission, they will find a way; however, most hijackers are just opportunists who will only act if they see an easy buck.

The first and cheapest way to hide your affiliate links is using a javascript redirect page. This is where you hide your affiliate link in a page on your site using a simple javascript that redirects people to your affiliate link.

It works great not to expose your "naked" affiliate link in your actual email messages and ezine ads, but, once people get redirected to the true affiliate link, many affiliate programs expose the affiliate link along with your ID in the browser address bar.

Here's an example of a redirect script in action. Click => http://www.ebookfire.com/esejs.html

Notice how the link takes you to a page where you can see my affiliate ID, ebookfire, in your web browser's address bar.

Like it or not, someone can replace my ID with theirs and "hijack" the commission... but at least the redirect script keeps them from immediately seeing my "naked" affiliate link (http://hop.clickbank.net/?ebookfire/ebksecrets) when I publish it in my newsletter, email, or on my website.

You can get free redirect scripts just about anywhere you find free javascripts. Here is the script I use http://www.ebookfire.com/jrs.shtml.

A better way to hide your affiliate links is using a zero-frame or "invisible" frame that masks the affiliate link by making it appear you are sending people to a page on your website. In reality, you are actually sending them to your affiliate link.

This is the technique used by those "sub-domain" redirect services that provide you with urls like http://ese.ebookfire.net.

While giving someone a link like that is much better than using a "naked" affiliate link such as http://hop.clickbank.net/?ebookfire/ebksecrets, there is a problem. As soon as someone does a "view >> source" in their web browser they'll see your naked affiliate link plain as day... which instantly blows your cover!

Currently the best way to protect your affiliate commissions from ruthless hijackers is to use a combination of a zero- frame page along with URL encryption. This involves sending someone to URL that looks like a page on your site, but actually pulls in your affiliate link like those "sub- domain" services. However, there's one critical difference...

If someone does a "view >> source" in their browser, you have added protection in that all they will see is a jumble of computer code instead of your naked affiliate link.

Check out this example of a zero-frame with URL encryption in action. Click => http://www.ebookfire.com/ese.html

Side Note: Beware of cloaking scripts that use javascript to mask your affiliate link because they could malfunction in some web browsers.

Here's the bottom line: if you are going to sell through other people's affiliate programs, never send a "naked" affiliate link... you're just asking for people to hijack or bypass you if you do.

If you want to get paid more often through your affiliate links, make sure it's not obvious you're referring people to an affiliate link. If they can't easily see how to hijack or bypass your link, a lot more people who would have taken the money out of your pocket will just go ahead and buy through your link - which is, after all, the whole point! :-)

Setting Affiliate Commission Levels

So, you finished your product, got your Clickbank membership and are ready to put your new item into the listings. One box in the submission form, however, remains empty as you think about what number to type in.

Before you choose one, take a moment to turn away from that screen and think about what number will work best for you. That empty form is going to be where you insert the commission rate you are willing to pay affiliates.

Let's consider how that number should be determined.

First, consider both the size of the potential market and the asking price for your product. If you are selling a product to a fairly small population segment, you may have to offer a particularly attractive commission to attract affiliates. Of course, this will decrease your earnings cap, but it can improve your real earnings relative to what you may have been able to get at a lower commission rate.

The asking price is also relevant. Not only does it have a potential impact on the possible number of customers, it will also play a role in what represents an acceptable rate to affiliates. For instance, if one is selling a $3000 item, most affiliates will be amenable to accepting a lower percentage because the potential payment per sale is still higher overall than it would with a less expensive item.

Second, try to objectively assess the quality of your product relative to others in the same niche. Better products are more likely to gain market share, making it possible to get by paying a slightly lower commission. If your product is clearly a third-place project, you will have to consider high commissions to inspire participation in the product's marketing.

Third, price the competition. Learn how much others are offering for similarly priced items. You don't want to pay your affiliates more than what's fair, but some research may demonstrate that the only way to compete for affiliates is by offering more than you may have thought. This research will give you a good idea of what would constitute an appropriate range of possible commission points.

Finally, don't forget about yourself. Make sure the commission you offer is not going to cut into your profit too much. You didn't acquire a product and recruit affiliates just to watch them get rich! Make sure the number you choose still allows you a fair opportunity for profit.

These four considerations provide a good idea of some of the factors one must consider when setting an affiliate price. By carefully assessing the market, your asking price, the quality of your product, the commissions offered by the competition and your own needed profit margin, you can arrive at a fair commission price that will keep everyone happy.

Affiliates = Free Time = Money

One reason many people get into Internet Marketing is so that they can have more free time. However, many people find themselves sinking more and more time into their online business before they realise that they have exchanged one job chained to a desk for another, chained to a computer.

Is it really possible that you can get more free time through Internet Marketing? All the big names tell us it is possible, but how can it happen?

Well firstly, you can pay someone else to do the web designing, search engine optimization and so on. However, for some of us, that may not be practical. Oftentimes people start an Internet business because they don’t have a lot of money and need a cheap and effective way to get their business up and running.

It is entirely possible to earn money whilst doing nothing with Internet marketing. Firstly, if you have automated your website and it is ranking high in the directories then it will run on auto-pilot.

However, you may not be high in the search engines yet and need other ways to put your business on auto-pilot.

One of the best methods I know of is to set up an affiliate program. This allows other people to promote your product and be paid a commission for each sale. If they don’t make any sales, they don’t get any commission. Obviously, you need to pay them enough commission to make it worth their while. A few dollars as the commission level is not going to motivate anyone for anything, so you may need to offer 40%, 50% of even higher depending on your business and product strategy.

This kind of percentage will get your potential affiliates much more excited about selling your product. Be wary though of raising the price of your product in order to make up the affiliate payment. You may end up pricing yourself out of the market and making no sales!

There are many different options for running an affiliate program. You can host the software on your web server and run if from there, or you can pay a monthly fee for someone else to host it for you. You could also join a program such as Paydotcom or Clickbank that handle everything for you, and all you need to do is sit back and enjoy the profits.

In fact, for many marketers, Clickbank is a real favourite because it truly allows you to automate your business! They handle everything for you – taking payment, paying the affiliate and paying you, allowing you to really put your business on auto-pilot and achieve the elusive dream of making money whilst you sleep.

Affiliates do equal more free time and more money. They will promote your product for you, earn you money, with minimal effort on your behalf. Investigate today how you can run your own affiliate program and benefit from this fantastic leverage on your time and resources.

Three Easy Ways for Newbies to Get Started in Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a term used to describe an advertising agreement between a website owner (affiliate) and a merchant. A strategic affiliate marketing agreement can be a very profitable online venture for both parties. The affiliate earns a commission for generating leads, clicks, and/or sales for the merchants website. The merchant enjoys a healthy profit without having to do a great deal of work.

If you are an affiliate marketing newbie interested in entering the business of strategic affiliate marketing, here are three simple steps to help get you started:

Step One:

The first step in developing a strategic affiliate marketing campaign is to find a niche. Your best bet is to find a subject that you are interested in or passionate about. Having a fair bit of knowledge on the subject won’t hurt either.

Step Two: The second step to getting started in affiliate marketing, and possibly the most important one, involves finding merchants whose products you would like to promote. You will want to find high-paying merchants and high converting products. Before making a final decision, you will also want to consider the merchant’s stance on strategic affiliate marketing. For example, do they offer affiliate support? What about marketing materials? The more support offered, the better.

Step Three: The final step to developing a strategic affiliate marketing campaign is promotion. For some, this is the hardest part. However, if done correctly, it is possible to earn large sums of money in the affiliate marketing business. To learn the best ways to promote your website, you must do your research. Read everything you can on strategic affiliate marketing, advertising techniques, and website promotion. Knowledge is the key to unlocking your success as an affiliate ma

Set Up Winning Web Page To Be Powerful Selling Tool - 5 Ways to Help Affiliate Problems

The Internet is powerful selling tool. Never before has been easier to start a business, be able to reach out to literally millions of potential customers and make your business succeed.

Yet time has taught us that there is much more to success that simply having a website or using these tools.

A lot of money can be made from affiliate programs and the cost for getting started is generally free, however in order to promote them effectively you will need to be committed to making it work.

Most affiliate program will give us a unique URL , though these methods work ( especially ezine advertising ) they are limited to how long the ad stays visible. We can not generate long term promotion by just submitting ads using that URL.

Also, we are unable to change the company’s website that you promote . In other words , we cannot participate in banner exchange , swap links in some cases we cannot even get in the search engines.

The absolute best way to promote your affiliate program are through:

1. A website of our own. Promoting affiliate programs whether it be mlms or any other affiliate program where you are given a unique URL is limiting without a website of our very own. There are literally thousands of ways to promote if we have our own website. Therefore it is imperative that you decide how serious you are about your business and to what level you wish to take your business.

2. Get a free site and domain name.

Find an inexpensive website that already provides means for HTML coding or we could purchase we own domain name and build it from scratch. Obviously the free site is the less expensive and the domain name is the most expensive.

With our own domain we can totally spread our wings and do this right. The doors that open to us are unlimited and so will the income be.

3. One of the best ways to use the our website in this scenario is to provide a testimonial. The testimonial would be bunches of good stuff we think about company and at the end we would provide a link to company that we promote. So the reader can check it out for themselves.

4. Write your sales letter from an informative approach. In other words, make your sales letter look like it’s article full information . The slowly revolve your sales letter to ward your opportunity , then encouraging them to click through.

5. Provide quality content related to your topic to keep the visitor on your site for as long as possible, which builds trust.

Free traffic vs. Extra Revenue - Earning From PPC Search Engines

What are the Search Engines?

A Search Engine is special database-driven web site designed to index and categorize internet addresses. Search Engines focus to help people to find information stored on the Web.

There are four basic types of Search Engines: Crawler-based (automatic), Human-powered Directories, Meta and PPC (Pay-Per-Click).

Although most of the Search Engines that operates today shall be classified as Hybrid Search Engines because it has become extremely common for two or three types of gathering and ranking results to be utilized for presenting them on results pages to the end user.

How the PPC Search Engines work?

PPC Search Engines create listings and rate them based on a bid amount the web site owner (advertiser) is willing to pay for each click directed from that Search Engine. Advertisers bid against each other to receive higher ranking for a specific keyword or phrase. The highest bidder for a certain keyword or phrase will have their site ranked #1 in the Pay-Per-Click Search Engine results followed by the second and third highest bidder, up to hundreds or even thousands, for the same keyword or phrase. Due to bidding process required to get your site ranked, PPC Search Engines are also known as Pay-For-Placement Search Engines, as the ads will appear prominently on the results pages based on the dollar amount (bid) you will agree to pay for each click.

Affiliate Programs and PPC Search Engines:

Most affiliate programs only pay when a sale is made or a lead delivered after one of visitor’s clicks through from your site. Depending on the program, your web site content and traffic target, earnings may be slightly different.

The reason why you should consider joining a PPC Search Engine affiliate program is that it is much easier to earn from PPC Search Engines than other affiliate programs. You will earn from your visitor’s click-thru’s to an advertisers site and not per sale or action.

Plus PPC Search Engine affiliate programs can very well collaborate with your existing web site’s content or ventures.

Resourceful of your web site:

With PPC Search Engine affiliate program you will be able to profit from visitor’s who are not interested in your product or service and more likely they would leave your site and never come back. Providing those with an opportunity to search the Web and find the service or product they are looking for will not only earn you commission but also will build your site’s brand recognition as a valuable resource. The visitor who finds what he/she needs on your website will more likely come back and review your services more carefully, eventually will be back to search the web for other products.

Key benefits: extra money or “Free” targeted traffic:

As you should have noticed PPC Search Engine affiliate program is an easy way for you to generate additional revenue. When a visitor on your site does a search in the PPC Search Engine and clicks on the advertiser bided listing, the advertisers account will then get deducted for that click. Depending on the Search Engine, you will be compensated with from 30% up to 80% of the advertiser’s bid amount.

PPC Search Engine affiliate program shall not be only considered as additional source of income, since it also can help you to promote your own site. Most programs allow you to spend your commission for advertising with them instantly with no minimum earning requirement. This is the most effective method to exchange your raw visitors for targeted surfers who will more likely purchase your product or service.

PPC Search Engine affiliate program integration:

PPC Search Engines usually have a ready-to-use suit of affiliate tools that you can easily integrate to your web site. The most common tools are search boxes, banners, text links and 404 error pages. Many Search Engines utilize custom solutions and provide with a white-label affiliate program, which enables you, with only few lines of code, to integrate remotely-hosted Co-branded Search Engine to your website.

Also referring your webmaster friends to the engine will grant you a lifetime commission for your 2nd tier earnings or deposits.

How I Started My Own Work At Home Internet Business With Very Little Investment!

Have you always wanted to work at home? Have your own business? Didn’t think it was possible? No more commuting in traffic (plus gasoline prices right now are ridiculous). No more “business attire” (work in your jammies) and no more Corporate America breathing down your neck. I didn’t think it was possible. I had always been a pessimist. Didn’t think I could do it. Didn’t have the knowledge or skills required.

I had worked in the travel/customer service industry for 25 years. I was laid off over two years ago after 9/11. I submitted my resume to countless job postings with no response. Obviously after awhile I was feeling unwanted, useless, and depressed. No job prospects, no money, no direction. I not only needed an income, I needed a purpose, a reason to get up in the morning other than the cats and bird needed to be fed.

What was I going to do?

The light bulb finally came on in my head and I realized that I had some resources right at home. A computer and internet access. I normally surfed the net to shop (shopping mind you, couldn’t afford to buy) and playing computer games to pass the time.

I happened upon an opportunity to take surveys online. Sounded easy enough and for a $35.00 investment to access a database of survey sites I could start making some money. I registered with every survey site listed in that database. A tedious task! In two months time a made $102.50 and a $10.00 gift card. I wasn’t going to pay the bills with that kind of money. Back to the same dilemma!

What was I going to do?

I started searching the web for information about working from home. To my amazement there are countless opportunities. Now the question was not if I could have my own business but what kind of business did I want? I’m not a salesman! I didn’t want to have to worry about inventory, packaging, shipping, merchant accounts, etc. I had very little money to invest, so my out-of-pocket expenses would have to be low, really low.

What was I going to do?

I found a website which offered me the chance to start my own business with incredibly little cost. The following is what was provided:

1. A domain name registered for $30.00.
2. Hosting of my website at a low monthly fee of $24.95.
3. My website was created free of charge which included a free auto responder.
4. I had to join five affiliate programs (signup was free) which their links would be placed on my website. These were some of the top affiliate programs (paying good commissions with multiple income streams). I found many favorable recommendations for them at several different websites.
5. They immediately got me started on how to build a mailing list fast and how to generate traffic to my website.
6. I was provided a home business tips newsletter that goes out to my email list on a daily basis. I don’t have to do a thing, it’s automatic.
7. Plus, I am provided with more tools, tips, ideas and marketing strategies (from well known “Internet Marketing Gurus”) than I thought possible. All free of charge.

They’ve done the research and testing to know what works and what doesn’t. Just have to follow their lead. These people give you step by step instructions. Go to any internet marketing website and see how much information is given freely. I think you will be as amazed as I was and still am.

Now don’t get me wrong, there are some costs involved. But I’m talking a couple of hundred dollars not thousands! I have been overwhelmed with information, ideas, tools and resources!

No one is going to do it all for you. You will have to spend time learning and working to promote your business. Point is YOU too have the opportunity to become your own boss!

Take action now, don’t wait, and grab a piece of the internet boom for yourself. As I said before I was always the pessimist, but now I see a half full cup instead of a half empty one.

Affiliate Programs... Who's Really Making The Money?

There will be a million and one affiliates out there who will tell you that the affiliate program they promote is going to be the best one for you.

But have you considered who is really making the money and who gains the most out of affiliate programs.

Let's take a step back and look at the AFFILIATE.

What exactly is the role of the affilate?

* The sole purpose of the affiliate is to PROMOTE the product and/or service

What are the benefits of being an affiliate?

* Get paid a minimal commission that is regulated by the owner of the product/service

In short, As an affiliate it is your responsibility to make someone else rich whilst doing all the hard work. You take on the expenses of advertising, you are the one who usually misses out on subscribers if you haven't first made them your client before they buy the product/service you are promoting.

And all this for what??? Maybe $20 per sale if you are really, really lucky.

You also need to remember that when you are an affiliate, YOU are not the only person promoting that very same product/service.

So what will make your offer any different to someone else who is promoting the exact same product, usually using the same sales technique, offering it at the same price.

To be in the top 5%, which is the amount of affiliates who make more than $100.00 per month, you need to first have a really good, clean, targeted subscribers list of more than 50,000 subscribers, know exactly how to gain targeted traffic, and have a huge advertising budget.

For the other 95%, the only way you are going to make alot of money from and affiliate program is to OWN YOUR OWN.

It really isn't as hard as you might think to set up.

So in conclusion, the best AFFILIATE PROGRAM, obviously is the one you OWN.

Back End Affiliate Marketing Program

In affiliate marketing program, it is a win-win solution for everyone involved. Each time the affiliate refers a visitor to the website of the merchant, he will earn income. The merchant will produce sales without spending a lot of money for advertising and promotion. He gains sales and pays the affiliate a commission. And all of this is working for you 7/24.

With the goal being to earn more income, both the affiliate and the merchant should be considering the practice of back end selling in their business. Back end selling is a great and well known support for affiliate marketing, as it can greatly enhance the income that is produced from affiliate marketing program.

Back end selling is the selling that's conducted after the initial sale. When a visitor becomes a paying customer for a product, another product can then be advertised and sold to the exact same customer, with the second product being called the back end product.

It is usually one that compliments the original product. Now, the customer will already be acquainted with the merchant or affiliate, meaning that is already a level of trust between them. Therefore, selling the back end product may actually be easier than the initial sale.

For many years, back end selling has helped boost sales for both online businesses and land bound companies. If the customer is happy with the initial product that was purchased, he'll logically assume that the online company is offering quality products and will come back again.

The normal technique with back end selling is to make the customer aware of other products, as these products can cater to other needs that the customer may have. When the customer becomes aware of the second or back end products, he will look into it and may make a purchase.

This technique has been both known and proven to be very powerful in augmenting the income of many companies. Therefore, back end selling has made hundreds of online companies flourish and expand. If you use it correctly, it can work very well with affiliate program.

Affiliate marketing will attract many new customers and lead to the initial sale, while back end selling will build loyalty among the buyers. To put it in other terms, back end selling is a major ingredient in creating a winning formula in affiliate marketing.

Each and every affiliate should look into the financial promise of back end selling when it's coupled with affiliate marketing program. The two of these can make the affiliate earn an amazing amount of income.

An Overview of Building 'Fat' Affiliate Sites

There is a lot of planning and decision-making involved in starting an affiliate site. It is tempting to take short-cuts because everyone wants to see quick results. However, I cannot emphasize enough the need to take your time.

Below,I have outlined the steps involved in creating successful affiliate sites. Follow each stage carefully, and don't move on to the next until you are 100% happy with the previous step.

1. Identify a profitable niche (which includes checking for products that you can promote).

2. Carry out keyword research to find out what people are actually searching for at the search engines.

3. Analyze your keyword research and split your keywords into groups, according to their future use on your site.

4. Sign up with a web host, so that you can get your site on the web. This particular stage is very important since not all web hosts are equal and it is a pain to change over to a new host when you find your current one is not living up to your expectations. To confuse matters further, price is not a good indicator of quality.

5. Buy a domain name, and set up your host ready to upload your pages.

6. Create pages "pre-selling" the products you are promoting. It is important to create quality content that helps your visitors with their buying decisions, as this not only makes your site valuable, it also helps prevent being labelled as a thin affiliate.

7. Add tracking code to your pages, so that you can analyze where your visitors come from, how many, and how they found your pages in the first place.

8. Join affiliate programs that provide products related to your chosen niche. It is often better to have the basic site up an running before trying to sign up for affiliate programs, since many merchants will want to see the site you are going to promote them on.

9. Add affiliate links, and/or Adsense to your pages.

10. If you are selling your own product, create a sales page for the product, sign up with Paypal or another payment processor, and add a Buy button or link to your sales page. Also you need to create an eBook "cover image" for your product, and add this image to the pages of your site so that anyone visiting a page, can see your eBook and click through to the eBook sales page if they are interested in more information.

11. Link your pages together into a site, so that it helps your visitor, the search engines, and your rankings.

12. Upload what you have done so far so that it can be found and indexed by the search engines. Get a link to your site from another site that is already in Google so that the search engines can find your site.

13. Add quality content in the form of articles that are 100% relevant to your niche. These again should be quality articles, which are informative, and provide a genuine "value" to your site. Add these slowly over time, so that your site appears to grow in size naturally.

14. Get one-way links to your site. This can be done in several ways, and not all of them are painful!

Repeat steps 13 and 14.

That's it. You may not be following every step (depending on whether you are going to offer your own products), but that list of points are the ones you will follow on the road to a quality affiliate site.

A word of warning, and I cannot stress this enough - You can spend weeks or months going through all these steps and create a large site that is well designed, but unless your content (the stuff you write on the pages) is quality, valuable and genuinely informative, your site will not do well. The most important part of any site is the content, so don't skip on quality. Make sure that you would be proud to show your content to a Google engineer. If you can't honestly say you would be happy to do this, don't publish it on your site. You will be killing any potential your site had to do well.

Affiliate Programs - Aspects That Make Up A Great Opportunity For Long Term Success

Affiliate programs are a very popular way to earn money online today. However, do you know what to look for in an affiliate program? It is important that you know what makes the best affiliate program to be successful before you sign up with any program.

An affiliate program with a high reputation will also enable you to succeed because it will be much easier for you to make sales.

If you do not research this aspect, you risk joining an affiliate program which is a scam.

Here are several aspects to consider when looking for the right affiliate program to promote for long term success.

Look for an affiliate program that pays high commissions to its affiliates. Various affiliate programs offer a wide range of commissions. You will need to look for an affiliate program where your earnings are high.

The affiliate program’s commission structure is therefore very important, and you need to be fully informed about the potential commissions you can earn for each sale before you join any affiliate program.

How to Avoid Being a Thin Affiliate

What's all this about thin affiliates?

In a "leaked" document reportedly coming from Google, the big G gave guidelines to human spam-busters on how to classify affiliate sites as thin or not.

A "thin affiliate" is basically one that creates pages with the sole intention of ranking well and directing traffic to an affiliated merchant site, without adding anything unique to the World Wide Web.

It seems that the algorithms at Google HQ are no longer the only ranking factors involved in where your pages end up in the search results. Now, human beings are scouring the Internet looking for sites to penalise.

Some have called it a hoax, others have seen it as the end of affiliate marketing, but if you actually read this report, you will hopefully see what I see:

(a) Affiliate sites are here to stay

(b) If you do things right, you will end up with less competition from other affiliate marketers (since so many will ignore this report and continue to churn out thin sites created with little or no focus on the visitor).

This report was apparently given out to people chosen to work for "Google's spam department" as "Raters" - maybe they should be called ratters ;o).

That's right, Google apparently has hired people around the world to do web searches, look at the results in Google, and identify those sites that Google should penalize for Spam.

With Google doing such weird stuff lately, and some affiliate sites disappearing without trace, things are starting to make sense.

This "leaked" report details what the raters should look out for, what to label as spam, and what not to label as spam. I am sure that you agree, whether this document is real or not, it is certainly something we should all look at carefully.

Below, I have highlighted the main points of the report. I hope to show you exactly what you need to do to stay on the right side of these "Raters" and of course Google itself.

Before we begin, I just want to say that I don't think any of this is new. I think that what Google is trying to achieve here is what they have always tried to achieve - relevant quality results without spam. I think that Google's filters only go so far, and Google realise this. There is nothing as reliable as a human for determining quality, so hiring people to search out spam was the next logical step forward.

OK, let's look the main points.

(a) the first thing Google instructs its raters to do is read and learn the Google Webmaster Guidelines.

You can read the full guidelines here: http://www.google.com/webmasters/guidelines.html

Let's have a quick look and see what Google have to say about what makes a site good.

Summary of Google's Webmaster Guidelines:

Under the section Design and Content Guidelines, there are some useful tips on how you link the pages of your site together.

GOOGLE: "Make a site with a clear hierarchy and text links. Every page should be reachable from at least one static text link."

This should make sense. If a page has no links to it, the search engines cannot find it. In addition, links pointing to pages help that page rank well (because of the influence of link text).

GOOGLE: "Offer a site map to your users with links that point to the important parts of your site. If the site map is larger than 100 or so links, you may want to break the site map into separate pages."

A sitemap is there to help users, but the search engines use them to find new pages. When you add a new page to your site, add a link on the sitemap, and the search engines will find it. If you want the spiders coming back to your sitemap frequently, consider adding an RSS feed to your sitemap. Last week I mentioned some software that makes adding a feed to your site very simple, so there is no excuse for not using the technology available to you.

GOOGLE: "Create a useful, information-rich site and write pages that clearly and accurately describe your content."

Here we have a reference to content. Quality content is the way forward. Page generators that create 1000s of pages with no unique content are struggling to survive.

GOOGLE: "Think about the words users would type to find your pages, and make sure that your site actually includes those words within it."

An invitation to use primary and secondary keywords.

GOOGLE: "Try to use text instead of images to display important names, content, or links. The Google crawler doesn't recognize text contained in images."

An indication here how highly Google ranks keywords, especially in text links. For a well-optimized site, I do not recommend using fancy image navigation buttons built with JavaScript. Good old-fashioned text links will help your site get indexed better, and rank higher.

GOOGLE: "Make sure that your TITLE and ALT tags are descriptive and accurate. "

Reading between the lines - don't stuff keywords. Write these tags naturally and with ALT tags, make sure they reflect the image (since these tags are used by blind visitors). The title tag is very important, so do use your primary keyword in the title. However, be careful with ALT tags. Keyword stuffing is likely to result in a penalty.

GOOGLE: "Check for broken links and correct HTML."

Do you have any broken links in your site? These can cause problems. Additionally, you should verify your HTML using a service like HTML Validator. They actually have a free version.

http://www.htmlvalidator.com/

Invalid HTML could be affecting your rankings.

In the Technical Guidelines, there are a few good tips as well:

GOOGLE: "Use a text browser such as Lynx to examine your site, because most search engine spiders see your site much as Lynx would. If fancy features such as Javascript, cookies, session ID's, frames, DHTML, or Flash keep you from seeing all of your site in a text browser, then search engine spiders may have trouble crawling your site. "

Speaks for itself really. A lot of new webmasters like to load their pages with fancy animations, scripts and eye-candy. Avoid them unless absolutely necessary.

Here is an interesting point:

GOOGLE: "Once your site is online, submit it to Google at http://www.google.com/addurl.html"

Many marketers including myself never submit sites at this URL. My advice here is to add a link from a page already in Google, and let Google find the site for itself. I don't think I have submitted a page at this URL for over 2 years, and my new sites get found within days, using this linking technique.

GOOGLE: "Submit your site to relevant directories such as the Open Directory Project and Yahoo!"

Since directories are highly valued by Google, try to get your site listed in them. These directories will provide a quick route to getting indexed, as well as provide valuable PR and link reputation for your site. The way Google probably sees directories listings is that if the site is there, it is quality (since places like DMoz are edited by humans).

If you don't read all of the Google guidelines, you should at least print out the Quality Guidelines - Basic principles section.

GOOGLE: "Make pages for users, not for search engines. Don't deceive your users, or present different content to search engines than you display to users."

Here is a clear warning to webmasters. Don't use tricks, and don't over-optimize your pages.

As I always say "if it makes you nervous, don't do it".

Google themselves say something very similar here:

GOOGLE: "Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings. A good rule of thumb is whether you'd feel comfortable explaining what you've done to a website that competes with you. Another useful test is to ask, "Does this help my users? Would I do this if search engines didn't exist?"

Another bomb-shell for many:

GOOGLE: "Don't participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking or PageRank. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or "bad neighbourhoods" on the web as your own ranking may be affected adversely by those links."

This is a clear indication that Google does not like reciprocal links. In addition, there is a warning there that linking to a penalised site can cause your own site to get penalised. A site that is carefully controlling their linking, will be able to spot bad sites, and avoid penalties. A site that links to all and sundry wont, and are therefore likely to get into trouble.

GOOGLE: "Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our terms of service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google."

This guideline warns against software that automatically checks rankings or other automated tasks. If you are using a rank checker, make sure that software uses the Google API key (which Google introduced to help developers create Google-friendly software) which can then check Google safely. This API Key limits the number of automated queries the software can do, and keeps you within safe "Google limits".

The Quality Guidelines - Specific recommendations sections should act as your checklist of things not to do. Here is the list:

Avoid hidden text or hidden links.

Don't employ cloaking or sneaky redirects.

Don't send automated queries to Google.

Don't load pages with irrelevant words.

Don't create multiple pages, subdomains, or domains with substantially duplicate content.

Avoid "doorway" pages created just for search engines, or other "cookie cutter" approaches such as affiliate programs with little or no original content.

Keeping within Google's guidelines is so important if you want your site listed. I highly recommend you print out the entire set of guidelines and read them again and again until you are familiar with them.

OK, back to the Google raters.

Google have told their raters to pay particular attention to:

(b) "The distinction between pages designed for human viewers and those set up for search engine robots"

and

(c) "The specific enumerated manipulative techniques for which sites may be 'punished' by Google"

You can see a lot of pages in Google's index that have been setup purely for search engine robots, or pages that are designed to do nothing more than increase your rankings of other pages.

These are typically pages that hold no interest to human visitors, and are merely there to either manipulate your own rankings, or make revenue from Adsense (or affiliate programs).

Techniques here might include "hidden text", keyword stuffing, pages containing search engine results (like TE pages), pages that only contain RSS feeds and little else, cloaked pages and doorway pages.

If your page is not interesting for a visitor, and is only setup to get Adsense clicks, or boost rankings of other pages, then these are the pages Google considers spam.

Do this test:

Remove all income generating code from a page (Adsense, affiliate links etc).

Then ask yourself this:

"Is this page still of value to a human visitor?"

If you truthfully answer yes, then you are OK. If you answer no, then that page would be considered spam by a rater. Later in this course, we look at a more comprehensive checklist to see whether your pages are thin or not.

The Incredible Affiliate Marketing List Giveaway Technique

You are probably leaving a lot of money on the table while promoting you affiliate program and don’t know it. Any big time affiliate marketing program owner who sees this article will be screaming, “No!” at the top of their lungs. You on the other hand will be cheering, “Yes!”

When you use and affiliate page or link, you are sending traffic to the owner of the program’s site. On the surface, that seems great. You send people to look at the product, opt-in, buy it, and get paid. What could possibly be any better?

This is what could be a lot better. You could be the one getting what you just gave away, to market other products in the future or even now. What is it? It’s the name and email address of the person. That’s right, the information that you just gave away, is the most valuable thing you could have and you probably don’t know it.

That name and email address is worth everything to you. This is why. You could use it to send your promotional mailings to that person about anything you offer. If you don’t have it, you have no way to contact that person. However, the owner of the program you’re promoting does. You can bet that they will use it to send their offers out to people on the nice shinny list that you just helped them build. They are thanking you and, at the same time, laughing at you hysterically.

This is just one way solve the problem. Build a landing page that offers the program or service with your own opt-in box. If you don’t know how, learn how, because you’re loosing a fortune. Then you just take the affiliate link and place it in the section of the code that would go to your thank you page. So, after the visitor signs up to be on YOUR list, you are automatically sending that person to your affiliate page. Then you are getting the best of both worlds.

Can you think of one good reason to give your list of potential customers and profits away? Internet marketing gurus have big enough lists. Makes sure that you are building yours first. You wouldn’t leave $1,000,000 on a table in a city bar. At least I hope you wouldn’t!
