Affiliate Marketing-What's In It for You-Or-How To Make Money Selling Other People's Stuff

by Eileen Childs

What is Affiliate Marketing? Let me put it this way. How many times have you told a friend or relative about a product or service that you like that resulted in them purchasing that product or service? Now imagine doing the same thing on the Internet, but on a much larger scale. Now imagine that that the companies you refer people to pay you a commission for your referrals. That's how affiliate marketing works.

The perks of starting an affiliate marketing business include:

Typically no cost to join most affiliate programs.

The ability to work from home, be your own boss and set your own hours.

Startup costs are usually low. A fraction of what traditional business can be.

You don't have to worry about customer service, inventory, shipping or receiving.

It's easy to get started in affiliate marketing. There are many online programs that assist you and allow you to get started immediately.

You can work full time or part time.

You would be surprised how much affiliate marketing it going on out there. I know I was. It's all around us. For example, when I drive out of my housing development, there are little signs beside the road advertising a dating website. I see these signs every day, but I never realized they were put there by an affiliate marketer marketing for a dating site. The next time you are shopping at your favorite online store, try scrolling down to the very bottom on their homepage. You will find that many of them have a little link at the bottom of their page labeled "affiliate". Look at the Amazon.com and Dell Computers sites for examples. These companies are looking for people to advertise their products. How many times have you purchased something on the Internet and ended up making your purchase through Clickbank? Clickbank is an affiliate program network. They describe themselves as "...the Internet's largest digital marketplace". They are basically the middle men between affiliates and the real product sellers. If you have an ebook you want to sell, you might put it on Clickbank. When someone purchases your ebook, the affiliate and Clickbank both get a percentage of the sale.

The thing I like most about affiliate marketing, is that there really is very little maintenance required. Once you set up your website and affiliate advertisements, your home business can be on autopilot.

It's not uncommon for affiliates to market for multiple companies, creating multiple streams of income. Although focusing on one particular type of product is typically recommended. For example, you might have a website that promotes Internet dating sites or work at home opportunities.

There is a lot of opportunity out there for those who want it. It does take some effort during your startup months, but if you stick with it, you can expect to earn extra income, stay at home with your kids or replace your existing income working fewer hours. If you are going to venture into affiliate marketing, you should do plenty of research. There are a lot of people who try affiliate marketing, don't stick with it and fail, but there are also those who are persistent and make a lot of money doing it. The best advice I can give is, start slowly, do your research, test to see what works and stick with it!

Ten Ways To Make The Most Out Of An Affiliate Program

by Alex Albert

Any business, online or offline, that wouldn’t require any initial cash layout, would be a win-win situation.

This is what makes affiliate programs so much enticing. An affiliate program allows the affiliate marketer to act as a middleman between the consumer and the merchant, without having to add anything to the price of the product. The affiliate marketer is given a commission for every successful sale, and these percentages can be a substantial sum.

Many online citizens actually claim that they have given up their day jobs because of affiliate marketing. The amount they are earning from affiliate programs is significantly larger than their normal income.

If you wish to enter the very promising world of affiliate marketing, here are ten tips that would definitely help you maximize potential profit from the system.

1. Focus on a particular area of interest. You can’t sell products that target different markets. It is better to concentrate on one specific field, study its ins and outs, and work your way around its demands. To illustrate, if you choose dogs as an area of interest, research on the places where dog lovers gather online. Then look for an affiliate program that offers products which cater to their needs.

2. Choose an advantageous affiliate program. There are some things to consider when choosing the most profitable affiliate program. First among these is the salability-commission ratio. Usually, products which are difficult to sell offer a higher commission, whereas products that are easy to sell offer lower percentage cuts. Try to find an advantageous balance. Look for a product that is easy to sell and offers an attractive commission. Additionally, you should also consider the credibility and reliability of the affiliate program. Do they actually pay? Do they pay on time? Are their products worth something? These are but a few of the things you have to clarify before committing yourself to their terms.

3. Build a focused and content-filled site. You will primarily sell the affiliate products in your site. But if your site does not attract that many visitors, sales conversion is virtually impossible. Create a site that focuses on the area of interest you have chosen, and populate it with rich, informative content that people would love to read. Just like that famous line from the movie Field of Dreams, “build it and they will come.”

4. Market your site. People would not automatically know about your site, so you have to advertise it across the web. Submit it to search engines, exchange links with well-visited sites, and promote it in online communities. You have to spread the word that your site exists, and that it’s good.

5. Market the product. Once a consistent influx of visitors is established, it’s time to promote the affiliate product you’re selling. This is usually done through a sales page that can be accessed from your site. A sales page is an article full of praises or the product. Things like “it changed my life,” “the secret that they don’t want you to know,” “be a millionaire in one week,” and the likes are not uncommon lines for sales pages. But they work. Hire a professional ghostwriter to write a sales page for you.

6. Discard anonymity. Anonymity is a common thing on the internet, but it is bad for a business venture. People would rather deal with someone they know, rather than a username like B1GB3N or R2D2. Give your real name. You could choose to keep your contact information undisclosed however, until you become sure that the other party is likewise worthy of your trust.

7. Build a network. Befriend other affiliate marketers. Share information about the best deals, the most effective strategies, and perhaps, even some lists of potential buyers. Remember, the world is all about a network of contacts. Each person you know would eventually help you out at one point. There is no reason why the internet should be any different.

8. Build a list. It is not enough that a visitor visits your site. You have to keep him. He may not purchase any of your available products now, but there’s no telling that he won’t decide to buy your future offerings. So build a list by encouraging them to sign up. Create a free service that would make them keep in touch. Remember, a lost visitor is a lost sale.

9. Protect your link. Your affiliate link is the one thing that would inform your chosen affiliate program that you were the one who was responsible for a particular sale. Link theft is rampant these days, which is unfortunate, because in affiliate marketing, your link is your bread and butter. So protect your affiliate link at all costs.

10 Do not limit yourself to one affiliate program. Join as many as you can without losing the focus of what you want to sell. The greater the variety of the products you offer, the more chances that one will be bought. Joining affiliate programs is free, so might as well make the most out of it.

6 Affiliate Tips For Training Your Affiliates To Make Better Sales

by Christopher Wen

Are you gathering a group of affiliates to help you market your products? Then perhaps you are looking for affiliate tips on how to train your affiliates to bring in more sales for you. Give them the right motivation and you are well on your way to passive income flowing into your pocket every month. Let us look at 6 affiliate tips where you can up your profits by training your affiliates the right way.

The first tip I would suggest is tell your affiliates to give away dozens of bonuses when marketing your product. For instance, if your product is an Internet marketing product, they can purchase master resale rights to dozens of good software programs and ebooks and give them away as a bonus bundle to go along with your product, giving them a competitive edge.

Secondly, create an autoresponder series for your affiliates. Sales pages are notoriously bad converters without additional help. However, if you give your affiliates a 5-day autoresponder series with good material that will act as a reasonable upseller, you will increase how productive their efforts are, rewarding both them and you.

The third tip is to create samples for your affiliates, so they have something to give to prospective customers. For example, if you are selling a video product, take clips from the video, and for audio product, do the same thing. For software, you may want to create a demo version. By allowing your affiliates to distribute these demos and sample products will increase their conversion rates.

You do not always need to treat your affiliates as only a worker. The fourth affiliate tip is to treat them like a partner rather than a worker. Always offer special deals to your partners. For instance, if you want to get someone to become an affiliate for your business, joint venture with them and offer to let them earn full commissions on the product. This is always a good business move in the long run, as they will be more likely to work with you in the future and it will associate your name with theirs.

If you are close with all of your major affiliates, then the last marketing tip I would recommend to you is to consider purchasing your own affiliate program software. To begin with, this will allow you to make immediate electronic payments to your affiliates, which is a significant bonus for them. Additionally, it will allow you to skip the 2 to 3 week period between closing sales and getting your check.

If you are one of those who rely on clickbank to help you make sales every month, you should be concern on how to motivate those who market your product, as your income stream is very dependent on them. So grab these marketing tips and apply them in your business now to create a group of affiliates that will assure you of profit in the long run.

Internet Marketing: Strategic Alliances

by Lama Kalla

A strategic alliance is a long term formal relationship between two or more parties that is mutually beneficial. It allows the parties to work together towards a common set of goals whilst remaining independent organizations. The two parties agree to cooperate, bringing complimentary strengths and capabilities to the alliance.

A strategic alliance brings a number of benefits to the parties:

• Increases available funds for research and development whilst lowering risk
• Decrease the time to market of products, i.e. get your products to the market quicker
• Brings together complementary skill sets without the cost of developing them
• Access to skills and knowledge that an individual party does not have
• The ability to quickly expand into different markets
• Build credibility
• Build brand awareness
• Provide more value to your customers

Strategic alliances can also be known as joint ventures, but are subtly different. They are where you join forces with another person for business purposes. Now this may be where you are promoting your product (a joint venture), but can also be a strategic alliance based on a trade of skills, knowledge or experience.

Strategic alliances are important because they can often help you get your business up and running quicker and possibly cheaper.

Think about how an offline company run a strategic alliance. Companies align themselves with other companies that add to their skills and fill a hole in their service or product portfolio.

For example, you may do a strategic alliance with an advertiser for advertising space, or with a web designer for his services. You may exchange your time or your products for their services.

If you are looking to promote your product, you may well approach someone with a large list or website in your target market segment and develop a strategic alliance with them. This strategic alliance could even stretch into developing products together, promoting them and sharing the profits.

How does a strategic alliance fit into your business plan?

Particularly if you are working on a business plan for an offline business, you need to detail your strategic alliances. This influences your cash flow forecasts, your sales forecasts, your marketing plans and so on.

It’s a case of determining what your skills are and what skills you are lacking in order to develop your business. It may also be that you decide to outsource some of the work with strategic partners in order to free up more time for you to focus on the core of your business. For example, you may decide to outsource your website design work and focus on developing and marketing products rather than do the design yourself rather than making money.

When you are planning your business determine what strategic alliances you require in order to make the business a success and then find the best strategic partners to help you achieve this. Strategic alliances can fast track your business to success and free up your time for other activities.

How To Double Your Affiliate Marketing Commissions Without Growing Your List

by Alex Nghiem

Most Internet marketers start out by being an affiliate marketer, selling other people's products. This a reasonable strategy because affiliate marketing offers many benefits including:

* No fulfillment costs
* Quick time to market
* Huge product selection
* Few, if any, customer service issues

However, if you ask most affiliate marketers, you would find that they are not satisfied with their commissions. Why is this?

The answer is in understanding the concept of front-end vs. backend marketing. The front-end product (usually a low- priced eBook in ClickBank) is usually sold to create a qualified lead, who is then offered an upsell to a higher end product (such as a ticket to a live event or a coaching program). This is the BIGGEST secret of marketing and world class marketers such as Mike Filsaime, Dan Kennedy, and Jay Abraham have used this concept to make millions for themselves and for their clients.

Since most affiliate marketers don't understand this concept, they continue to try to sell more low-end products to increase their commissions when in reality, they should be offering an immediate upsell for a higher-end product. Using the upsell technique of higher-end products has some advantages over selling more low-end products:

* You don't have to grow your list
* You can get make more money immediately vs. having to wait for new sales to come in
* That customer is statistically 10 times more likely to buy from you again because he's made 2 purchases vs. a single purchase

In many cases, the sale of a single higher product is the equivalent of selling 5 or more of the original product.

Let's take a quick example. Let's assume that you're selling a $20 product and getting a 50% commission [you would then make $10 per sale]. To get to $500 dollars, you would have to sell 50 copies of this product.

Now, let's assume that you offer a $200 product upsell [as an affliate and you get 50% on this as well] as soon as the customer buys. Even if only 10% of your buyers take the upsell, you would get an additional $100 per sale. Of course, you have to seek out joint venture partners that offer higher end products but those are easy to find.

Let's quickly compare your commission then after 10 sales:
* 10 sales x $10 commission per sale = $100
* 10 sales x $10 commission per sale = $100 + 1 upsell commission of $100 = $200

You have doubled your affiliate marketing commission with the same amount of effort and without having to grow your list! A 10% upsell is very doable because the best time to sell somebody is when they just bought.

I hope that simple example illustrates how you can double your affiliate marketing business, even without growing your list.

Affiliate Programs, You Will Suffer Crippling Losses If You Do Not Redirect Your Affiliate Links

by Matthew Mills

Affiliate programs can make you a decent amount of income on the side without having your own product and sales copy. There exists another side of affiliate programs though. You probably work hard and long for the affiliate checks that you do get.

But do have any idea how many hard earned dollars of your affiliate money you do not get? What are some of the methods that you can employ in order to get all that you fully deserve as a hard working affiliate? One way is to try and be different. Try your best not to appear like everyone else.

Put a completely different face on your identification link. You can easily redirect or cloak your affiliate link. Lets take a look at some ways that you should redirect your affiliate link in order to reap your rightful benefits.

The first is spam. Stay away from using the same link coming from the same domain as everybody else. The spam filters will start to pick up on that domain as being a sales letter email and will block it as spam. See the example below:

www.youraffiliateprogram.com/?id=xxx This is a dead giveaway affiliate site link.

Whenever the filters see that address in the email it will get blocked as spam and get blacklisted, especially if it is a large promotion. By redirecting your link, it will contain your domain name and will get an easier ride thru the spam filters.

Lets consider search engine optimization. If you write articles and submit them with a signature file that has an affiliate link, the affiliate site gets the back links. In addition, unscrupulous people can easily get rid of your affiliate id.

Use your domain as a redirect to the affiliate program and you will get the backlinks to your site and better SEO rankings. Some affiliate programs give you cloaking links to prevent removal of your identification marker. While this is a great step, it does not address the loss of backlinks.

Another reason is that it will make you look more professional as a marketer. You would not appear as someone who is just promoting all kinds of affiliate programs.

When potential customers see the link below

http://www.affiliateprogram.com/?id=xxx they know it is an affiliate link and will be less likely to click on it.

However when they see this

http://www.yourdomain.com/youraffilliateid or this
http://www.yourdomain.com/recommendsthisprogram

They will view it more as your personal offer or recommendation.

There are many simple software solutions that can change your links. These programs are not pricey at all. Many are available as freeware or shareware through popular sites that offer these kinds of products.

Whatever program or software you choose, the key is to make your domain as the primary axis on your journey throughout the World Wide Web. As a result traffic will increase and customers will be clicking away on your links in no time.

Affiliate Programs can be very lucrative. Have you started yours yet? Would you like some help getting started? This ebook is just what you need to get you going. Follow this link to make your start: Affiliate Programs

Changing Your Affiliate Formula

by Cheryline Lawson

Becoming an affiliate is one of the easiest ways to start a business online. To start an online business, you are in fact using someone else’s product or service as leverage to create an income stream for yourself.

Not all Affiliates have grasped the correct formula it takes to succeed as an affiliate. Some affiliates go from one program to the next instead of choosing one and sticking with it until success comes. It takes perseverance and commitment to gain success as an affiliate.

There is no one exact formula that works, but if you are using a formula or method that is not working, then it’s time to change your affiliate formula. You may be promoting the wrong program; one that doesn’t pay out enough to sustain you or you may be using ineffective methods or formula for advertising.

Most affiliate programs come with longer URL’s than normal domain names. If you are using your long affiliate URL, go to www.tinyurl.com to get a shorter URL link. It will take the user back to your affiliate page, but it gets rid of your long URL, which I think looks very tacky anyway. People won’t take you seriously if they see a long URL link like that of an affiliate link.

If you are advertising on free classified ad sites, you may be wasting a lot of your productive time and that formula may not work for the item or service that you are promoting. Decrease the time you spend posting on free classified ad sites and use your time to write an article or articles and submit them to ezine owners or article directories. You can go to google or yahoo and do a search for “ezines, ezine directory, article directories, submit article.” You will find a list of places that accept article submission. Submit your article to no fewer than 10 ezines and 10 article submission sites. Commit to writing at least 2 articles per week and submit them. If you can do more, then that will greatly increase your bottom line and enhance your formula. When you submit your article or your site to various online directories, you generate hundreds of quality one-way links to your site and anyone who searches these directories may find your article or your sites description interesting & visit your site. From this you get a large targeted audience. Make sure you pack your articles with targeted keywords, but make sure that you don’t overdo it. Give your audience good information.

Do you know how to blog? If you don’t know how, then do a search using the popular search engines. Use keywords like, “blog, blogging,” to search for information on blogs. You can also go to blogger.com and wordpress.com to create one. It can be done in three easy steps. You will get a blog URL after you have created your blog. Submit that blog URL to blog directories, which you will also find by searching the popular search engines. Make sure you blog subject targets the audience you are trying to reach.

Have you tried google adwords yet? Google adwords formula is very effective if you have a strong headline and eye-catching ad. You can go to google.adwords.com to learn more about google adwords. Start out with $25 per day and as soon as you start receiving hits from you google ad, go ahead and reduce your daily amount.

Another formula you can use instead of free classified ad sites is discussion forums. Be careful when using discussion forums or you will be considered a spammer. Create a profile and include a signature line with your affiliate link. Introduce yourself first to the forum. Browse the forum to learn how others are posting and if you make contributions to the forum, make then count. Don’t ever post ads to the forum. To find discussion forums, go to google or yahoo and search for the type of discussion forum you are looking for. If you go to www.big-board.com, you will find a big list of forums to choose from.

If you want to continue to use your ads, use them in ezines as classified ads or solo ads. This formula is much more effective. You an also try to find a website owner who compliments your product or service that you are trying to promote and ask them to do a joint venture with you. It can create a win/win solution for all involved.

If you are not familiar with joint venture, I am going to recommend a free ebook that will help you. It is free to download at www.moneywithjointventures.com/freeoffer

Lastly, another formula that words is google adsense. Open a google adsense account at google.adsense.com. Use the script that will be provided and include it in your articles. Buy a domain name at godaddy.com and upload the google adsense article to your hosting account. Google loves content rich websites. Be sure to include your affiliate link in your article. You will also make some extra money with the google ads that will be displayed in your article from the script provided by google.

Changing your affiliate formula to one that works will guarantee your success as an affiliate. If one formula doesn’t work, try another, but don’t ever give up. Give the formula at least 30 days to see some glimmer of hope. Try hard before abandoning your efforts. What works for one may not work for the other. Keep on affiliating. It will pay off.

Affiliate Profits With Downloadable Audiobooks - Product Strategies No Affiliate Should Ignore

by Jim Musselwhite

Affiliates looking to bolster their product line should first have a perspective of the downloadable audiobook market size. Audiobooks are now a $2 billion industry, which has enjoyed a compound average growth rate of over 100% since 2004. Amazon is the undisputed leader in the worldwide book marketplace, online or offline. Barnes & Noble is another very popular and highly visited audio book market place on the Internet.

But here is the interesting point.

In 2005, the leading audiobook download company was Audible.com, with sales of $65 million. That sales figure is exclusively downloadable audiobooks. Interestingly, that $65 million represents only 3% share of the total audiobook market size, meaning that the vast majority of the audiobook marketplace is is still a land grab. Affiliates who quickly seize the opportunity to weave audiobook products into their niche sites will reap the rewards.

Let's examine how affiliates can implement this strategy:

Go Wide: With thousands of audio books available for download, with more coming daily, an affiliate marketer has an almost limitless choice of market niches into which she can build in audiobooks for added monetization. There are dozens of audiobook categories that already overlay popular affiliate niches (e.g. business, health and recreation, self help) as well as subcategories (e.g. management, motivation, sex & relationships).

The challenge is certainly not finding applicable audiobook titles, rather it is building out niche sites as fast as possible with as much relevant audiobook content as possible. Fortunately, the technology is available today to quickly and easily add customized audio book content to virtually any affiliate web site.

Don't have a niche web site? Just select a topic and build around an audiobook category. Of course, you'll want to add articles and reviews to distinguish your web site and create value for your visitors over and above the availability of audiobook download titles.

Go Deep: Think about your last visit to Barnes & Noble or Borders store. If you looked for a specific audiobook title, it was highly unlikely that you would have found it since these stores carry only a tiny fraction of what is available. You could order it online, but the odds are that you would have to wait a few days for the order to arrive on CD.

Now imagine how lucrative it would be for you as an affiliate if you could offer exactly what your visitor was searching for. Visitors could find their audiobook of choice directly from within your niche web site, something they would never have been able to accomplish through a conventional audiobook store. For example, there is a far greater chance of selling audiobooks on "learning foreign exchange" from a foreign exchange site than there is at a conventional bookstore or even a generalized audiobook site. The ability to go deep into these niches is the key to affiliate profitability.

Optimize for search engines while avoiding duplicate content: If you are concerned that Google (and other search engines) duplicate content filters will shut you down for page after page of audiobook title content, you can relax. Downloadable audiobook content distribution technology is available today to ensure that every page of audio book content on your site is unique.

Tools are available from Spoken Network that make it almost infinitely impossible to get the same page twice. For example, if 100 page were generated with this tool, the chances of generating a page that has been created for someone else previously are over ten billion to one. Your audiobook affiliate site is a "content magnet" for the search engines.

The search engines love original content. With the ability to publish unique pages of audiobook titles in an instant, the search engines will very likely rank your pages higher once they spider your content.

Maximize commissions for profit: Amazon has long held a leading position in affiliate programs for book sales. Yet Amazon's single digit affiliate commissions pale in comparison to the newer audio book content suppliers that have entered the market. So monetize your niche sites with more lucrative commissions. And for those with pure content sites (articles, reviews), add Google Adsense ads to the sites you create. With such strong audiobook content, it's quite likely that your Adsense revenue will skyrocket. Even if you never sell an audio book.

Yes, go wide AND go deep. Affiliates just starting out with limited resources would be advised to start slowly with a few niche sites (go deep) and later expand to other niches as resources and time permit (go wide).

Main Benefits to Affiliates

* Monetize your affiliate sites further through audiobook sales and high commissions

* Offer a highly tailored set of products for your customers

* Customer affordable, with substantial savings versus audiobooks on CD

* Usually a non-subscription model offered by audiobook content suppliers (no ongoing commitment)

* Instant access 24/7 enabling sales to be generated all the time with NO affiliate involvement (passive revenue)

* Tools to enable affiliates to sell directly off their own site. The customer thinks he is buying direct from the affiliate site.

Quick Tip To Be a Successful Affiliate

by Oddvar Meyer

In this article I will give you a quick tip on how you will become a successful affiliate marketer. It isn’t hard to become a successful affiliate, but it isn’t easy either. It all comes down to your level of “know how” and your ability to put your knowledge into action. We have all learned, in some point in life, that having a high level of knowledge and a good education is power. “If you educate your self, you can become whatever you want in life” the saying goes. WELL, I disagree on that statement when it comes to online marketing and all sort of work that implicate that you are your own boss.

I will claim that “know how” isn’t power at all. It is only potential power. It is when you put your knowledge into action you have power, REAL POWER. The same goes with affiliate marketing. If you want to have success, you have to know how to do it right, but you also need to actual DO IT. One of the most common mistakes about affiliate marketing is that most people believe that affiliate marketing is a system where you will become rich over night. You just find a product, put up an ad, and rich you are. What? OK, Sorry I forgot, you maybe have to make a website too. If it was that simple every one with an internet connection had been wealthy, and they are not, so it had to be more complicated than that.

Some people really become wealthy in a really short amount of time as an affiliate marketer, but that is because they have the “know how” and the ability to put that knowledge into action. Don’t forget that the average affiliate marketer do not make a lot of money. I believe that the most affiliate marketer do not make money at all. They try it out for a while and then they give up. I tell you this because I want you to understand that if you until now haven’t had any success as an affiliate marketer or in the broad field of making money from the net, you do not have to be frustrated.

If you are willing to learn from other people and from your own mistakes, you will success. Your frustration is only an indicator of the fact that you had the wrong expectation to how fast you would make money. I know, because I have been there. I was promising you a quick tip to be a successful affiliate and here it is. Do not try to reinvent the wheel. Just copy the pattern that others successful marketer do, and repit it instantly. Sound easy? Matter of fact it is, as long as you make sure that you have the knowledge and the will to do it.

8 Crucial Search Engine Optimization Tips For Affiliate Marketing!

by Franck Silvestre

It's amazing to see many affiliates struggling to make commissions because they don't know or they just neglect the importance of search engine optimization for affiliate marketing.

An affiliate website well optimized that provides useful information can perform very well if you manage to get it on the first page of Google, Yahoo and MSN in a profitable niche.

For an affiliate website to attain excellent rankings, you need to take care of these search engine optimization basics...

Let's start by on-page optimization:

1)Optimize your title tags.

Your title tag is very important in the eyes of the search engines, so do not forget to put your keywords.

2)Use the header tag.

It's amazing to see how many affiliates and web masters in general forget to add the most important header tag to their site: H1

3) Use the right keywords on your web pages.

Before writing your articles, be sure to carry out a keyword research and use these keyword along with related keywords in your article.

4) Your web pages must be focused on one or two keywords.

Target one or two keywords only per web page.

While on-page optimization is important for your website, what will really make the difference is off-page optimization. Your link building strategy must follow the following rules:

5) Create good content that will be linked to naturally.

Write for people and not for the search engines. If your content is good, other websites will link to you.

6) Try to get inbound links with your keywords as anchor text.

When you exchange links with other web masters, be sure that they use the right anchor for your site.

7) When getting links, don't forget deep linking.

Your inbound links should not only point to your home pages, but to internal pages as well.

8) Get links for high rankings websites.

Getting links with other websites is one thing, but getting links from trusted websites will have a bigger impact on your rankings in the eyes of search engines.

Affiliate marketing is an easy way to make money on the Internet, and the secret to get good search engine placements is consistency. Follow these steps to be ahead of 90% of your affiliate competition.

How To Avoid The 3 Most Common Affiliate Mistakes

by Gaetane Ross

Affiliate marketing is one of the most effective and powerful ways of earning some money online. This program gives everybody a chance to make a profit through the Internet. Since these affiliate marketing programs are easy to join, implement and pays a commission on a regular basis, more an more people are now willing in this business.

However, like all businesses, there are lots of pitfalls in the affiliate marketing business. Committing some of the most common mistakes will cost the marketers a large portion taken from the profit they are making everyday. That is why it is better to avoid them than be regretful in the end.

Mistake number 1: Choosing the wrong affiliate.

Many people want to earn from affiliate marketing as fast as possible. In their rush to be part of one, they tend to choose a bandwagon product. This is the kind of products that the program thinks is hot. They choose the product that is in demand without actually considering if the product appeals to them. This is not a very wise move obviously.

Instead of jumping on the bandwagon, try top choose a product in which you are truly interested in. For any endeavor to succeed, you should take some time to plan and figure out your actions.

Pick a product that appeals to you. Then do some research about that product to see if they are in demand. Promoting a product you are more passionate about is easier than promoting one for the sake of the earnings only.

Mistake number 2: Joining too many affiliate programs.

Since affiliate programs are very easy to join, you might be tempted to join multiples of affiliate programs to try and maximize the earnings you will be getting. Besides you may think that there is nothing wrong and nothing to lose by being part of many affiliate programs.

True, that is a great way to have multiple sources of income. However, joining multiple programs and attempting to promote them all at the same time will prevent you from concentrating on each one of them.

The result? The maximum potential of your affiliate program is not realized and the income generated will not exactly be as huge as you were thinking initially it would. The best way to get excellent result is by joining just one program that pays a 40% commission at least. Then give it your best effort by promoting your products enthusiastically. As soon as you see that it is already making a reasonable profit, then maybe you can now join another affiliate program.

The technique is to do it slowly but surely. There is really no need to rush into things, especially with affiliate marketing. With the way things are going, the future is looking real bright and it seems affiliate marketing will be staying for a long time too.

Mistake number 3: Not buying the product or using the service.

As an affiliate, you main purpose is to effectively and convincingly promote a product or service and to find customers. For you to achieve this purpose, you must be able to relay to the customers that certain product and service. It is therefore difficult for you to do this when you yourself have not tried these things out. Thus, you will fail to promote and recommend them convincingly. You will also fail to create a desire in your customers to avail any of what you are offering.

Try the product or service personally first before you sign up as an affiliate to see if it is really delivering what it promises. If you have done so, then you are one of the credible and living testaments aware of its advantages and disadvantages. Your customers will then feel the sincerity and truthfulness in you and this will trigger them to try them out for themselves.

Many affiliate marketers makes these mistakes and are paying dearly for their actions. To not fall into the same situation they have been in, try to do everything to avoid making the same mistakes.

Time is the key. Take the time to analyze your marketing strategy and check if you're in the right track. If done properly, you will be able to maximize your affiliate marketing program and earn higher profits.

How Do Affiliate Marketers Make Millions-By Solving Problems

by Anthony Joseph

Lawyers typically make a large yearly income, over six figures. Many teenagers, college students and even adults choose to become lawyers simply because of the money they will make.

Money is what drives them to become lawyers.

Decisions as large as a persons career, based solely one money, rarely achieve the kind of financial gain as originally thought. Although, some will go on to exceed all expectations, a large number will fail at reaching the six figure goal and some will flunk out of school.

Affiliate Marketers are no different.

If you read any of the affiliate marketing forums, you'll quickly see that many of the marketers are focused solely on getting the sale and, more importantly, the commission.

They are so obsessed with making affiliate sales, you'll see these questions everywhere in the forums: "How do I get more sales? What's the best affiliate program to join? How can I make $1000/month?"

These are the most common questions asked by beginner affiliate marketers. What's even more surprising is that the seasoned veteran affiliate marketers, who can't seem to make it all work, also ask those same questions.

It's disheartening to know that several of these people have read countless ebooks, subscribed to dozens of affiliate newsletters and paid for online courses in learning affiliate marketing, affiliate networks and everything under the sun.

You'll also hear this group say things like "this affiliate product didn't work for me" or "that ebook didn't help me at all." Usually these comments come from the people who didn't read the ebook cover to cover. They just skimmed the ebook looking for the information on conversions and commissions.

Yes, there are awful ebooks and product out there. But, you should only listen to what the successful affiliate marketers have to say about good and bad products. You won't learn anything from those who didn't give it a full read.

Like the money hungry, future lawyers, these affiliate marketers are seeing the dollar signs and not putting themselves in the right mindset to be truly successful.

How to be successful in your affiliate marketing (and any other) career

Forget about money and start solving problems.

The lawyers that solve the most problems, or the largest problems for their customers, make the most money.

Likewise with affiliate marketers.

You MUST find out what people want to fix in their lives and point them in the right direction with your affiliate link. PERIOD.

Bill Gates doesn't try to make billions of dollars. He finds out what people want, what they want to do better, easier or faster, and he builds them a solution. PERIOD.

Whether you're a lawyer or affiliate marketer, start solving other people's problems and the money will follow.

It's guaranteed.

3 Powerful Tips To Skyrocket Your Affiliate Marketing Income With Adwords

by Franck Silvestre

Affiliate marketing and adwords is by far the quickest way to make money on the Internet. However, before you decide to dive into pay per click advertising (PPC), you need to learn essential tips and tricks, otherwise, you will lose a lot of money.

To get the most from your adwords campaigns, you need to learn how to use Google Adwords tools efficiently. Invest in your education and you will be rewarded. You will be well on your way to make a nice affiliate revenue through adwords.

Follow these Google adwords tips, and get lower cost per click for a higher affiliate revenue...

1) Always choose high profit margin products.

Before Setting up your adwords campaign, you must know that affiliate marketers can easily lose money compared to the merchant who is selling his own products. If the affiliate commission is to low, it will be difficult to break even.

Try to choose affiliate programs that pay more than $75 per sale. Like that, you will have room to test the market and tweak your landing pages... and still win money.

2) Choose recurring commissions affiliate programs.

Adwords is a tough game, and you need money to make money. What you want to do is to turn one dollar into two dollars. You can do better than that when you promote membership site and web hosting companies.

Your affiliate commissions will come each and every month while you are entering new market and testing new campaigns.

3) De-activate "Content Network".

When you start a new campaign, be sure to de-activate content network. Those contextual advertising ads displaying on adsense sites are often a waste of money.

While those adsense publishers are getting more and more clicks on their ads (they earn a nice CPC income doing this!), those clicks doesn't convert to sales in most of the cases. In fact, “content network” is good for merchants since they get branding from their affiliates for their company and products.

4) Never target the first spot!.

It has been proved that the fourth or fifth spot are more profitables. While you get less click at the fourth position, your adwords campaign's ROI (return on investment) will be higher than the ad in the first position.

Why? Because many of the surfers are searching for information, and they will click on several paid ads before making their choice.

When they click down (fourth position), they already saw the competition, and at this point, they have an idea of what they want. They are more likely to buy through your affiliate links.

Affiliate marketing and adwords can be very lucrative when you know how to play the pay per click advertising game. It is one of the main weapon of super affiliates, and if you follow those adwords advices.

Two Skills Every Affiliate Marketer Needs

by Paul Harris

There are many skills that people think they need when starting an affiliate marketing business. But, there are two particular skills that most people overlook, yet, will have a huge impact on whether or not you will succeed in affiliate marketing.

Those two skills are focus and taking action.

Focus As affiliate marketers we are constantly being bombarded with the “latest and greatest" offers and products. These also happen to be promoted by some of the best marketers on the world so it becomes increasingly hard to resist.

But, with affiliate marketing, you almost never need any of this new stuff. You just need a plan and then stick with it with focus and intensity. Reading about all the latest money making opportunities will only distract you from your one and only purpose - getting a visitor to click on you affiliate link and then buying from the merchant. Doing anything that does not help with that one specific goal is simply "busy work" and will reduce the amount of money you could be making.

Taking Action The second skill often overlooked is taking action. But, not just any action, but, only those actions that will increase your affiliate income. Action for its own sake is simply a sign of procrastination.

However, taking massive action that leads to specific outcomes that you have selected is a required skill for any online marketer.

Learning and using these two skills will put you far ahead of your competitors and allow you to achieve your affiliate marketing goals.

Affiliate Programs, The Secrets To Starting Your Very Own Successful Network

by Matthew Mills

Affiliate programs are a great way to help supplement your income. A good place to start an online business is by becoming an affiliate marketer. It is quick and easy to start up and requires very little investment in order for the money to come rolling in.

With an online business you have an extremely wide marketing area at your convenience. You do not have to create your own products or services in order to get started making money online. The merchants give you the rights to market their products for free in the vast majority of cases.

Affiliate programs have become one of the most popular methods for making money online today. Simply because the products or services have already been created for you. All you need to do is promote, or advertise them in order to earn sales commissions.

In a typical affiliate marketing set up the merchant provides his affiliates with the tools and resources required to sell his product or service. The affiliates use these resources, such as banners, graphics, or text advertising to post on their websites.

They can also be sent out in emails to create sales of the product or service that they are promoting. The affiliate then gets a percentage of the total price of the product when a sale is made, which is usually 25% to 75% of the total price of the product.

Signing up as an affiliate marketer is easy. Just find a company that offers an affiliate program for their product or service and fill in their online form with your personal details.

Most affiliate programs are free to join and most offer valuable instructions to help you get started in selling their products. The merchant stands to gain from your success so it is to their benefit to help you succeed with your affiliate marketing business.

You can also use an alternative method and join what is called an affiliate network. It is a business that hosts a variety of affiliate programs for online merchants at one web site location.

Most affiliate networks are free and easy to join and provide a full range of products for you to promote. Some of the most popular affiliate networks are: Commission Junction, Clickbank, Linkshare, Cash Engines, and VIP Profits.

Affiliate marketing is one of the most rewarding careers that anyone could have. Someone can literally start on a shoestring budget and work into a consistent and very decent salary within a short period of time. Many people make thousands of dollars each month just selling products from the Clickbank network. Clickbank is actually a great place to start as an affiliate marketer because they have thousands of products and an excellent support system.

Becoming a successful affiliate will not be all that easy because there is a lot of competition online. But, it is important to have a good content based web site. You can then imbed links to the products that you are marketing. The products you promote should be relevant to the content on your site which will take some initial planning.

You can start off with just one site and then build another site and do this over and over again. Before long you would have created a multitude of sites. They would promote different products or services. You could link them to one another and have your own network of websites. This could turn out to be extremely profitable for you over a period of time.

Affiliate Programs can be very lucrative. Have you started yours yet? Would you like some help getting started? This ebook is just what you need to get you going. Follow this link to make your start: Affiliate Programs
